[전북/CTN]최동주 기자= 이원택 전북특별자치도지사는 "도청 잔디광장은 도민 누구나 편안하게 찾아와 쉬고 즐길 수 있는 공간이 돼야 한다"라며 "도민들이 일상에서 자유롭게 이용하고 직접 문화행사에도 참여할 수 있도록 이용 여건을 꾸준히 개선해 나가겠다"라고 밝혔다.
전북특별자치도는 도청 잔디광장을 가족과 함께 피크닉을 즐기고 도민이 직접 문화행사를 개최하는 열린 공간으로 전환한다고 8일 발표했다. 이번 사업은 민선 9기 전북도정이 지향하는 '도민이 주인인 열린 도정'의 일환으로, 평일 도청 개방과 열린 도지사실 운영에 이어 행정 공간을 도민 휴식 공간으로 대폭 확장하는 조치다.
전북자치도는 오는 10월 10일 '전북마이웨딩' 공공예식을 시작으로 31일 어린이집 아나바다 행사 등 도민 참여형 행사를 12월까지 시범 운영한다. 시범 운영 결과를 바탕으로 보완 조치를 거쳐 2027년부터는 돗자리 음악회, 가족 독서마당, 낭만 피크닉 등 도민이 직접 기획·참여하는 소규모 문화행사를 본격 확대할 계획이다.
아울러 전북자치도는 광장 주변에 파고라와 야외 벤치 등 그늘쉼터를 설치하고 빈백과 피크닉 매트를 구비하는 등 환경 개선을 병행하여 일상과 문화가 자연스럽게 어우러지는 도민 명소로 가꾸어 나갈 방침이라고 밝혔다.
