문화체육관광부 지정 명예 문화관광축제이자 대한민국 대표 농경문화축제인 '제28회 김제지평선축제'가 5일간의 대장정을 마치고 성공적으로 성료했다고 7일 발표했다. 김제시는 지난 1일부터 5일까지 벽골제 및 시내권 일원에서 'K-농경문화, 지평선에서 빛나다!'를 슬로건으로 5개 분야 총 62개 프로그램을 선보이며 전국 관광객들의 뜨거운 호응을 이끌어냈다.
올해 축제는 traditional 농경자원에 현대적 레저와 미식 콘텐츠를 접목해 '보는 축제'에서 '체험하는 축제'로 거듭났다. 전통 민속 프로그램인 '벽골제 쌍룡놀이', '입석 줄다리기', '대통령배 전국 농악경연대회'가 축제장의 흥을 돋운 한편, '지평선 짚 테마파크', '지평선 드론 짚공 스타디움', 대지아트 짚라인 등 이색 레저시설이 가족 단위 관광객을 사로잡았다. 또한 인기 프로그램인 '아궁이 쌀밥 짓기'와 '세계 쌀 음식 테마거리', 야간 '자이언트 싸리콩이와 쌍룡 파이널 멀티미디어쇼' 등이 큰 인기를 끌었다.
