[통일부/CTN]가요진 기자= 정동영 통일부 장관은 임명장을 수여하며 "북향민의 아픔과 눈물을 누구보다 잘 아는 분인 만큼, 정부의 북향민 정책이 사각지대 없이 지원될 수 있도록 힘써달라"라며 "특히 재단과 하나센터 간 협업을 통해 전국 각지 북향민 위기가구를 조기에 발굴하고 위기의 근본 문제인 경제적 자립 지원에 보다 힘을 기울여 줄 것"을 당부했다.
통일부는 김영희 전 한국산업은행 수석연구원을 북한이탈주민지원재단 신임 이사장으로 임명했다고 발표했다. 신임 김영희 이사장은 지난 2010년 재단 설립 이래 최초의 북향민 출신 이사장으로, 입국 후 20여 년간 북한 경제 전문가 및 재단 대외협력실장 등으로 활동하며 높은 전문성을 쌓아왔다.
김 이사장은 북한 원산경제대학을 졸업하고 경남대와 동국대에서 북한학 석·박사 학위를 취득했으며, 한국산업은행 선임연구위원 및 사단법인 북한개발연구소 소장 등을 역임했다. 현장 경험과 전문 지식을 겸비한 김 이사장의 취임으로 북향민의 관점과 눈높이에 맞춘 유능한 재단 운영이 이루어질 것으로 기대된다.
