[외교부/CTN]가요진 기자= 윤영기 외교부 아중동국 심의관은 "이번 포럼이 양국 기업 간의 구체적인 프로젝트 발굴과 상호 호혜적인 경제협력을 이끄는 중요한 출발점이 되기를 기대한다"라며 "주리비아대사관의 트리폴리 복귀를 기점으로 건설·에너지·디지털 산업 등 다양한 분야에서 양국 간 실질 협력이 확대되기를 희망한다"라고 밝혔다.
외교부와 주리비아대한민국대사관은 리비아 외교국제협력부와 공동으로 9월 27일부터 28일까지 트리폴리에서 '2026 한–리비아 경제협력 포럼'을 개최했다고 발표했다. 이번 포럼은 2014년 리비아 내전 이후 우리 정부가 리비아 현지에서 개최한 첫 경제행사로, 지난 6월 대사관의 트리폴리 복귀 공식 발표에 따른 우리 기업의 진출 및 재건 수주 지원 사업의 일환이다.
포럼에는 한국 외교부, KOICA, 삼성전자, LG전자, 현대건설, 대우건설, 현대중공업 등과 리비아 경제통상부 장관, 전력청, 주택인프라청, 상공회의소 관계자 등 150여 명이 대거 참석했다. 참석자들은 에너지를 넘어 디지털 기술, 보건의료, 인프라 등 리비아의 산업 다변화와 개발 수요에 맞춘 구체적인 협력 방안을 논의하고 1:1 상담을 진행했다.
특히 이번 행사에서는 한국 중소기업이 개발한 AI 동시통역 서비스가 적용되어 기술력을 선보였으며, K-팝 그룹 ATEEZ의 영상 축하와 현지 커버댄스 공연 등 문화 교류도 함께 이뤄졌다. 정부는 이번 포럼을 계기로 형성된 네트워크가 구체적인 프로젝트 수주와 실질적 경제 협력 결실로 이어지도록 후속 지원을 지속할 방침이라고 밝혔다.

This forum is the first economic event hosted by the Korean government inside Libya since the Libyan civil war in 2014, organized as part of support for Korean companies' market entry and construction order acquisition following the official announcement of the embassy's return to Tripoli last June.
About 150 key figures attended the forum, including the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KOICA, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai E&C, Daewoo E&C, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, alongside the Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), Housing and Infrastructure Board (HIB), and Union of Chambers of Commerce. Participants discussed concrete cooperation plans aligned with Libya's development demands and industrial diversification across energy, digital technology, healthcare, and infrastructure, conducting one-on-one business consultations.
In particular, AI simultaneous interpretation service developed by a Korean SME was showcased at the event, alongside cultural exchanges featuring video congratulatory messages from K-pop group ATEEZ and local cover dance performances. The Korean government plans to provide continuous follow-up support to ensure that networks built during this forum lead to actual project orders and tangible economic cooperation results.
