[순천/CTN]하성매 기자= 순천시 관계자는 "짧은 연휴에도 많은 분이 순천을 찾아주었다"라며 "앞으로도 교통·숙박·먹거리 등 관광 인프라를 촘촘히 연계해 관광객이 더 오랫동안 머물 수 있는 체류형 관광 기반을 다져나가겠다"라고 말했다.
순천시(시장 손훈모)는 지난 24일부터 27일까지 추석 연휴 나흘간 총 13만 7천여 명의 방문객이 순천의 주요 관광지를 찾았다고 발표했다. 지난해보다 연휴 기간은 짧았지만, 하루 평균 3만 4천여 명이 방문하며 성황을 이뤘다. 주요 관광지별로는 순천만국가정원·순천만습지 9만 3천 명, 낙안읍성 2만 2천 명, 송광사·선암사 1만 5천 명, 드라마촬영장 6천 명으로 집계됐다.
관광객의 발길은 도심으로도 자연스럽게 이어졌다. 숙박업소 표본 조사 결과, 국가정원 권역뿐만 아니라 순천역과 조례동 등 도심권 전반에서 숙박 수요가 높게 나타났다. 순천역과 원도심 일대 음식점·카페에서도 평소보다 이용객과 매출이 늘었다는 현장 반응이 이어지는 등 연휴 기간 도심 상권에도 활기가 더해졌다.
특히 시는 연휴 기간 문 여는 음식점을 미리 안내하고, 한복 착용자에게 주요 관광지 무료입장 혜택을 제공했으며, 전통놀이와 특별공연을 선보였다. 아울러 순천관광택시 50% 할인과 1,000원 시티투어 특별노선도 운영해 관광객의 이동 부담을 덜었다. 순천시는 이번 성과를 바탕으로 향후 관광지와 원도심을 잇는 연계 관광을 한층 강화할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
