지자체-지역 대학, '산업 AX' 맞손 잡아

[전남광주/CTN]최영준 기자= 대한민국 대표 자동차 도시인 전남광주통합특별시와 울산광역시가 미래 동반성장과 지역 대학 간 AX(인공지능 대전환)를 위한 초광역 협력 체계 구축에 나섰다.
전남광주통합특별시는 9월 28일 광주청사 비즈니스룸에서 울산광역시와 '미래동반성장을 위한 우호협약' 및 '지역대학 간 산업 AX 협력을 위한 업무협약'을 체결했다고 발표했다. 이번 협약에는 양 지자체장을 비롯해 전남대학교, 광주과학기술원(GIST), 울산대학교, 울산과학기술원(UNIST) 등 지역 주요 대학 관계자들이 참석해 상생발전을 위한 협력을 약속했다.
양 도시는 협약에 따라 산업 전반을 AI 중심으로 전환하는 AI 기반 공장혁신(AIDF) 사업을 공동 추진하고, 자율주행 기술개발 및 실증, 재생에너지와 수소·이차전지 산업을 공동 육성하기로 했다. 또한 문화·예술·체육 분야 교류와 함께 순천만과 태화강 국가정원을 연계한 관광 프로그램 개발에도 힘을 모으기로 합의했다.
아울러 지자업계와 4개 지역 대학은 산업 AX 분야의 공동연구 및 기술 교류, 인재 양성, AI 기술의 산업현장 적용을 위한 공동과제 발굴에 협력할 계획이다. 양 지자업체는 참여 대학 간 협력이 원활히 이루어질 수 있도록 행정적 지원과 관계기관 연계를 적극 지원할 방침이라고 밝혔다.

Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City and Ulsan Metropolitan City signed a 'Friendly Agreement for Future Co-Growth' and a 'Business Agreement for Industry AX Cooperation between Regional Universities' at the Gwangju City Hall Business Room on September 28, agreeing on super-regional cooperation between the two cities.
Under the agreement, the two cities decided to join hands to promote co-prosperity and lead the realization of an irreplaceable Republic of Korea.
Accordingly, the two cities agreed to jointly promote AI-Defined Factory (AIDF) projects that transition the overall industry around AI, develop and demonstrate autonomous driving technology and secure data, jointly foster renewable energy such as wind and solar power as well as hydrogen and secondary battery industries, promote exchange and cooperation in culture, arts, and sports, and develop tourism programs linked to Suncheonman Bay and Taehwagang National Garden.
The two cities also decided to collaborate with local universities (Chonnam National University, Ulsan University, GIST, UNIST) to strengthen 'Industry AX Capabilities.'
Under the agreement, participating universities will cooperate in joint research and academic/technical exchange in the Industry AX field, talent cultivation and human resource exchange, and the discovery and promotion of joint projects for applying and demonstrating AI technology in industrial fields.
