[경산/CTN]이수현 기자= 조현일 경산시장은 "자살예방은 어느 한 기관의 노력만으로 이루어질 수 없으며, 지역사회 전체가 함께 관심을 두고 실천할 때 더욱 큰 힘을 발휘한다"라며 "그동안 지역의 여러 기관과 시민들이 생명존중과 자살예방을 위해 함께 노력해 온 만큼, 앞으로도 민·관이 긴밀히 협력해 시민 누구도 소외되지 않는 촘촘한 생명안전망을 만들어 나가겠다"라고 말했다.

경산시(시장 조현일)는 지난 28일 경산시립박물관에서 '우리가 만드는 생명존중 안심마을 주민참여 선포식'을 개최했다. 이번 행사는 자살예방을 지역사회 공동 과제로 인식하고, 주민과 기관이 생명존중의 가치를 공유하며 실천 의지를 다지기 위해 마련됐다. 선포식에는 조현일 경산시장과 지역주민, 참여기관 관계자들이 참석해 사업 성과를 공유하고 선포문을 낭독했다.

'생명존중 안심마을'은 지역주민과 기관이 협력해 일상속 자살위험 신호를 살피고 전문 기관으로 연계하는 지역사회 기반 안전망 사업이다. 경산시는 2025년 5개 읍·면·동 45개 기관으로 시작해 2026년에는 2개 읍·면·동을 추가하여 보건의료, 교육, 복지, 지역사회, 공공기관 등 5개 영역 총 68개 기관으로 협력 기반을 확대했다.

이번 선포식을 계기로 참여기관 간 협력을 강화하고, 고위험군 발굴, 인식개선 캠페인, 위험 수단 차단 등 기관별 역할에 맞춘 자살예방 활동을 지속 추진할 방침이다. 경산시는 지역 구성원 모두가 서로의 안부를 살피는 생명존중 문화를 지역 전반으로 확산시켜 나갈 계획이라고 밝혔다.

'Life-respecting safe village' is a community-based safety net project where local residents and institutions cooperate to observe suicide risk signals in daily life and connect targets in need to appropriate specialized institutions. Gyeongsan City started the project in 2025 centered on 45 institutions in 5 eups, myeons, and dongs, and expanded the cooperative foundation for local community suicide prevention to a total of 68 institutions across 5 areas including health care, education, welfare, local community, and public institutions by expanding to 2 eups, myeons, and dongs in 2026.

With this declaration ceremony as an opportunity, the city plans to strengthen cooperation among participating institutions and continuously promote suicide prevention activities tailored to the roles of each institution, such as discovering high-risk groups, awareness improvement campaigns, and blocking means of suicide. Gyeongsan City plans to spread a culture of respect for life where all members of the region look after each other's well-being across the entire local community.
