시는 공정한 관광문화 조성과 글로벌 관광도시 이미지 확산을 위해 유관기관과의 합동 단속은 물론, 지역 불교계 및 숙박업계와 손잡고 '공공·무료 숙박'이라는 파격적인 카드를 꺼내 들었다.

부산시(시장 권한대행 김경덕)는 지난 4월 22일부터 보건위생과, 관광마이스산업과, 특별사법경찰과를 비롯해 공정거래위원회, 한국소비자원, 소방재난본부 및 구·군이 참여하는 대규모 합동 점검단을 가동 중이다. 특히 관광불편신고 등을 통해 폭리 행위가 적발된 숙박업소에 대해서는 국세청과 공조해 조세 관련 조사까지 의뢰하는 등 강력한 사법·행정 처분을 예고했다.

축제 특수를 노린 숙박비 폭등 문제를 해결하기 위해 부산시는 공공숙박시설 카드를 제시했다.

이미 4월 말 금련산·구덕 청소년수련원(1박 기준 10,350원)과 내원정사 템플스테이(석·조식 및 사찰 체험 포함 80,500원)를 통해 외국인 관광객 452명의 예약을 성황리에 마쳤다. 부산도시공사 아르피나 역시 6월 11일부터 13일까지 전 객실을 기존 평시 요금 그대로 제공하는 ‘착한 요금’ 정책에 동참해 전석 매진을 기록했다.

특히 지역 불교계의 자발적인 동참이 빛을 발하고 있다.

범어사(주지 정오스님)가 2인 1실 기준 20명에게 무료 숙소와 사찰음식을 제공하기로 한 것을 시작으로, 선암사(15명)와 홍법사(69명)도 외국인 관광객을 위한 무료 숙박 지원에 나섰다.

무료 숙소 예약은 부산시 공식 관광 누리집 '비짓부산(https://www.visitbusan.net)'을 통해 오늘(22일)부터 5월 25일까지 접수를 받으며, 추첨을 통해 대상자를 선정한다. 단, 사찰 시설 특성상 남녀혼숙은 금지되며 세면도구는 개인이 지참해야 한다.

범어사 주지 정오스님은 “일부의 부당한 행위로 인해 부산 시민들의 따뜻한 환대와 성숙한 시민의식이 가려져서는 안 된다는 마음으로 뜻을 모았다”며 “부산을 찾는 이들에게 신뢰와 배려의 도시 이미지를 전하고 싶다”고 전했다.
