[제주/CTN]가금현 기자= 제주시학교밖청소년지원센터(센터장 최진범)는 지난 4월 4일 시행된 '2026년도 제1회 초·중·고졸 검정고시'에서 학교 밖 청소년 43명이 합격하는 기쁨을 안았다고 밝혔다.

그동안 센터는 학교 밖 청소년들의 학력 취득을 돕기 위해 검정고시 대비반을 운영해 왔으며, 이외에도 개별 학습 공간과 인터넷 강의 지원 등 맞춤형 교육 환경을 제공하며 합격을 위한 전폭적인 지원을 아끼지 않았다.

센터는 이번 성과에 이어 오는 8월 예정된 제2차 검정고시를 대비해 5월 21일부터 새로운 대비반을 개설해 운영할 예정이다.

참여 대상은 9세부터 24세까지의 학교 밖 청소년이라면 누구나 신청 가능하다.

최진범 센터장은 "청소년들이 어려운 환경 속에서도 학업에 열중해 값진 결과를 얻어 기쁘다"며, "앞으로도 검정고시 지원뿐만 아니라 청소년들의 건강한 성장을 위해 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 제공하겠다"고 전했다.

한편, (재)제주카톨릭아동청소년회가 제주시로부터 위탁받아 운영 중인 제주시학교밖청소년지원센터 '꿈드림'은 검정고시 지원 외에도 △직업 체험 및 훈련 연계 △자기계발 활동 △건강검진 △진로상담 △급식 지원 △대학 진학 지도 등 청소년 개개인의 욕구에 맞춘 종합 서비스를 제공하고 있다.

[Jeju/CTN] Reporter Ga Geum-hyeon = According to a report by CTN, Korea’s leading internet newspaper, 제주시학교밖청소년지원센터 (Director: Choi Jin-beom) announced that 43 out-of-school youths successfully passed the “2026 First Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Examination (GED),” which was held on April 4.
The center has been operating GED preparation classes to support out-of-school youths in obtaining academic qualifications. In addition, it has provided customized educational environments, including individual study spaces and online lecture support, offering full assistance to help students succeed.
Following this achievement, the center plans to open and operate a new preparation class starting May 21 in preparation for the second GED examination scheduled for August.
Any out-of-school youth between the ages of 9 and 24 is eligible to apply.
Director Choi Jin-beom stated, “I am delighted that the youths achieved such meaningful results through their dedication to studying despite difficult circumstances,” adding, “We will continue to provide not only GED support but also a variety of programs to help young people grow in a healthy and positive way.”
Meanwhile, the “Kkum Dream” program operated by Jeju Catholic Child and Youth Association under commission from Jeju City provides comprehensive services tailored to the needs of each youth. In addition to GED support, the services include:
Career experience and vocational training connections
Self-development activities
Health checkups
Career counseling
Meal support
University admission guidance
