[제주/CTN]가금현 기자= 제주시청소년상담복지센터(센터장 최진범)가 지난 11일부터 12일까지 1박 2일간 솔리언 또래상담자 청소년들을 대상으로 진행한 여름 캠프 ‘CRACK’을 성공적으로 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

이번 캠프는 최근 심각한 사회적 분위기로 대두된 ‘학교폭력 예방 및 근절’에 발맞춰 기획되었다. 청소년들이 학교폭력 상황에 직면했을 때 실질적으로 대처할 수 있는 역량을 키우고, 그동안 또래상담 활동을 펼치며 쌓인 심리적 소진(번아웃)을 예방하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

캠프 일정은 다채롭고 알차게 구성되었다.

시민들의 인식 개선을 위한 학교폭력 예방 캠페인을 시작으로, 지역 환경을 돌보는 플로깅 활동인 ‘희망의 발걸음’, 학교폭력 예방 세미나 등이 이어졌다.

또한, 상담 활동으로 지친 청소년들이 스트레스를 해소하고 스스로 마음을 돌볼 수 있는 다양한 체험 활동 시간도 마련되어 참가자들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

특히 이번 캠프에는 제주한라대학교 사회복지학과 학생들이 자원봉사자로 동참해 청소년들과 따뜻한 연대감을 나눴다.

캠프에 참여한 한 또래상담자 청소년은 “도움을 주고 대화를 나누는 친구로서의 덕목을 되새길 수 있어 뜻깊었다”라며 “지쳤던 마음이 충전된 만큼, 학교로 돌아가 도움을 필요로 하는 친구들의 곁을 든든하게 지켜주겠다”고 포부를 전했다.

함께한 대학생 봉사자 역시 “예비 사회복지사로서 청소년들과 함께 호흡하며 학교폭력 문제의 심각성에 깊이 공감하게 되었다”며 “앞으로도 청소년 보호 활동에 지속적으로 관심을 가질 것”이라고 소감을 밝혔다.

최진범 센터장은 “정부 차원에서도 학교폭력 해결을 위한 노력이 이어지는 가운데, 청소년들이 주도적으로 참여한 이번 캠프는 매우 뜻깊은 실천”이라며 “우리 청소년들이 폭력 없는 안전하고 행복한 학교 환경을 만들어가는 주역으로 성장할 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 강조했다.

The Jeju City Youth Counseling & Welfare Center (Director Choi Jin-bum) announced that it successfully hosted 'CRACK', a two-day summer camp for Solian peer counselors, from the 11th to the 12th.
The camp was designed in response to the growing social imperative of "preventing and eradicating school violence." It focused on equipping youth with practical coping skills in the face of increasingly severe school violence, while also preventing the psychological burnout that can occur during peer counseling activities.
The camp featured a diverse lineup of programs, starting with a school violence prevention campaign to raise public awareness. This was followed by "Footsteps of Hope," a plogging activity to care for the local community, and a seminar on school violence prevention. In addition, experiential activities were provided to help youth relieve stress accumulated from daily life and counseling, allowing them time for self-care. Notably, students from the Department of Social Welfare at Cheju Halla University joined as volunteers, adding a warm sense of solidarity to the event.
A youth peer counselor who participated in the camp shared, "It was deeply meaningful to practice the virtues of being a helpful and communicative friend. Now that my emotional battery is recharged, I will return to school and stand strong by the side of friends who need help."
A university student volunteer also expressed, "As an aspiring social worker, breathing the same air as these teenagers allowed me to deeply empathize with the severity of school violence. I will continue to stay invested in youth protection activities."
Choi Jin-bum, Director of the center, emphasized, "While government-wide efforts to resolve school violence continue, this youth-led peer counselor camp is a highly meaningful action. We will spare no effort in supporting our youth so they can grow into leaders who create a safe and happy school environment free of violence."
