[CTN/제주]가금현 기자= 제주의 청정 농업과 미래 푸드테크의 결합을 한눈에 볼 수 있는 대표적인 농촌융복합산업 박람회 ‘푸파페 제주(Food tech & Farming + @ JEJU Fair)’가 올해 역대 최대 규모로 돌아온다.

올해로 8회째를 맞이한 이번 행사는 단순한 지역 특산물 전시를 넘어, 국비 지원을 확보하며 내실과 규모를 동시에 키웠다. 행사 기간 역시 기존 3일에서 4일(23일~26일)로 늘어났으며, 장소 또한 제주국제컨벤션센터(ICC 제주) 제2센터로 확장 이전해 관람객과 바이어를 맞이할 준비를 마쳤다.

이번 박람회는 단순한 ‘보는 전시’를 탈피해 ▲체험형 콘텐츠 강화 ▲글로벌 판로 개척 ▲미래 농업 아젠다 제시라는 세 가지 확실한 승부수를 던졌다.

관람객의 오감을 사로잡을 체험 공간은 ‘제주에서 살아보는 하루’라는 감성적인 테마로 꾸며진다. 여기에 농업의 디지털 전환(DX) 기술을 직접 눈으로 확인하는 시연회와 메밀풀장 체험 등 전 세대가 즐길 수 있는 특별관이 마련된다. 특히 개막일인 23일에는 제주 출신의 유명 먹방 크리에이터 ‘히밥’이 현장을 방문해 시식 행사를 함께 진행하며 대중적인 흥행몰이에 나선다.

올해 ‘푸파페 제주’가 가장 공을 들인 부분은 농가의 실질적인 소득 창출과 해외 진출이다. 제주도 통상물류과를 비롯해 경제통상진흥원, 한국무역협회, KOTRA 등이 전방위로 합심했다. 해외 바이어 40여 명과 도내 수출기업 60여 개사가 참여하는 대규모 수출상담회는 물론, 국내 대형 유통 상품기획자(MD)들이 참여하는 유통상담회가 동시 개최되어 침체된 농가 경제에 활력을 불어넣을 전망이다.

행사 이틀째인 24일에는 학술적·산업적 가치를 높일 전문가 포럼이 개최된다. ‘AI·AX(인공지능·전환기) 시대 K-농촌융복합산업의 대전환’을 주제로 열리는 이번 포럼은 기후변화와 인구 감소에 직면한 한국 농업이 나아가야 할 고도화 전략을 심도 있게 다룰 예정이다.

또한, 지난해에 이어 다회용기를 사용하는 ‘친환경 그린 엑스포’ 기조를 유지하고, 해외 인플루언서 라이브 방송 및 물품 기부 등을 통해 사회적 가치(ESG)와 지역 상생의 모범 답안을 제시한다.
김영준 제주도 농축산식품국장은 본지와의 인터뷰에서 “청정 제주의 1차 산업과 미래 푸드테크가 결합한 중심지를 사흘간 생생하게 만나볼 수 있을 것”이라며 “도민과 관광객 모두가 제주 농업의 무한한 가능성과 미래 가치를 직접 확인하고 즐기시길 바란다”고 전했다.

Marking its 8th anniversary, this year's fair has expanded significantly with national budget support. The event has extended from three days to four (July 23–26) and moved to the larger ICC Jeju Center 2 to accommodate more exhibitions and interactive content.
Organized by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the expo features over 130 certified eco-businesses, young farmers, and local enterprises across 120 booths.
The exhibition offers dynamic experiential zones under the theme "A Day Living in Jeju," alongside Digital Transformation (DX) technology demonstrations and a buckwheat pool experience. On the opening day (23rd), popular Jeju-born food creator 'Heebab' will visit the site for a special tasting event.
Crucially, the B2B sector has been massively upgraded. Backed by KOTRA, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), and the Jeju Economic and Trade Promotion Agency, the 1:1 export consultation will match 40 global buyers with 60 local exporters. Concurrently, a distribution meet-up will connect 10 domestic MDs with 26 local enterprises to pave the way for wider market access.
On the 24th, a professional forum titled "Great Transformation of K-Rural Convergence Industry in the AI & AX Era" will take place to discuss future strategies for sustainable agriculture.
"This four-day event will vividly demonstrate how far Jeju's clean agriculture and future food tech have advanced," said Kim Young-jun, Director General of the Jeju Agricultural & Livestock Food Bureau. "We hope citizens and tourists alike will discover the new possibilities of Jeju's rural industries."
