[전남광주/CTN]최영준 기자= 임진출 전남광주통합특별시 건축개발과장은 "이번에 선정된 우수건축물들은 지역의 역사와 문화, 자연환경을 건축적으로 잘 풀어낸 대표적 사례다"라며 "앞으로도 지역의 특성과 정체성을 담은 우수한 건축물이 더욱 확산될 수 있도록 건축문화 발전을 위한 노력을 지속해 나가겠다"라고 밝혔다.
전남광주통합특별시 공모를 통해 지역 건축문화 발전과 아름다운 도시경관 조성에 기여한 '2026년 전라남도 우수건축물' 4곳을 최종 선정했다고 7일 발표했다. 공모 결과 대상에는 나주 공산면 '남도의병 역사박물관', 최우수상에는 구례 '포레스톤', 우수상에는 여수 '여운향'과 담양 '지곡당'이 각각 이름을 올렸다.
이번 심사에는 총 14개 작품이 출품됐으며, 건축 전문가 심사위원단이 서류 및 현장 심사를 거쳐 디자인, 기능성, 입지 환경과의 조화 등을 다각도로 평가했다. 대상을 차지한 남도의병 역사박물관은 남도 의병의 호국 정신과 역사적 가치를 주변 자연과 결합해 건축 공간으로 완성도 높게 구현했다는 극찬을 받았다. 선정된 건축물에는 기념 동판이 부착되며, 설계·시공자에게는 상장이 수여될 예정이다.
전남광주통합특별시는 이번 수상작들을 '전남광주통합특별시 도시건축문화제'에서 시민들에게 특별 전시 형태로 선보일 계획이다. 아울러 내년부터는 '전라남도 우수건축물'과 '광주건축상'을 하나로 통합해 공모 규모와 전문성을 한층 끌어올릴 방침이라고 밝혔다.
