[산림청/CTN]가요진 기자= 손순철 산림청 산림생태복원과장은 "백두대간은 우리 국토의 등줄기이자 미래세대에게 물려줘야 할 소중한 산림생태유산이다"라며 "더 많은 국민이 백두대간의 가치를 직접 체험하고 보호와 보전에 함께 동참해주시기를 바란다"라고 말했다.
산림청(청장 박은식)은 경상북도 봉화군에 위치한 국립백두대간수목원에서 한반도 핵심 생태축인 백두대간 보호에 대한 국민적 인식을 높이고 참여를 유도하기 위해 '백두대간 사랑운동'을 개최했다고 2일 발표했다. 이번 행사는 백두대간 보전의 가치를 미래세대 및 지역 주민과 함께 공유하기 위해 기획됐다.
2026년 백두대간 사랑운동은 백두대간 영상 홍보를 시작으로 붓글씨 축하공연, 백두대간 탐방 등 다양한 참여형 프로그램으로 진행됐다. 현장에는 산림청, 경상북도, 국립백두대간수목원, 백두대간보전회, 경북대학교 관계자와 봉화군 지역 주민 등 '백두'의 의미를 담은 총 102명이 참석해 백두대간의 지속 가능한 이용과 보호를 위한 뜻을 모았다.
산림청은 앞으로도 국민이 직접 참여할 수 있는 생태 체험형 프로그램을 지속해서 확대하고, 유관기관 및 지역사회와의 협력을 강화해 백두대간 산림생태계 복원과 보전에 행정력을 집중할 방침이라고 밝혔다.
