Kim Yeong-beom, Director of the Jongmyo Shrine Management Office, stated, "We hope this program serves as an educational opportunity for Seoul Hope Class students to deeply understand our history and cultural heritage while growing emotionally," adding, "We will continue to promote various programs so that the public can enjoy cultural heritage more closely in their daily lives."
The Jongmyo Shrine Management Office of the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center under the National Heritage Administration announced that it will host the experiential event 'The Scent of Jongmyo Blooming into the Future' on October 14 at 3:30 PM at Jongmyo Shrine in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Designed to expand cultural enjoyment rights for underprivileged groups, the event combines a guided tour of the World Heritage site with traditional incense blending. Organized under a partnership with the Seoul Jungbu Educational Support Office, the program specifically targets students participating in 'Seoul Hope Class', a specialized educational welfare program.
Participating students and teachers will tour Jongmyo Shrine accompanied by explanations from official National Heritage commentators, followed by a hands-on session where they sample traditional Korean scents and blend their own unique fragrances. Teachers operating Seoul Hope Classes can apply via the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Integrated Educational Data Management System until 4:00 PM on October 2.
The Jongmyo Shrine Management Office plans to continuously expand tailored cultural heritage experience programs for underprivileged youth by building organic cooperation systems with local educational support offices.
