[재외동포청/CTN]가요진 기자= 김경협 재외동포청장은 "이번 세계한인주간의 가장 큰 성과는 서로 만나기 어려웠던 동포들이 한자리에서 새로운 관계를 만들고, 그 관계를 실제 협력으로 이어가기 시작했다는 점이다"라며 "내년에는 동포들이 직접 참여하고 주도하는 프로그램을 더 확대해 세계 각지의 동포 네트워크가 대한민국과 함께 성장하는 기반을 만들겠다"라고 밝혔다.
재외동포청(청장 김경협)은 9월 27일부터 10월 1일까지 인천 송도컨벤시아 일원에서 개최된 '세계한인주간'이 지역과 세대, 분야를 아우르는 동포 네트워크의 가능성을 확인하며 성황리에 막을 내렸다고 발표했다. 올해 처음 열린 이번 행사는 개별적으로 개최되던 세계한인회장대회, 세계한상대회 등 주요 동포 행사를 하나로 연계해 실질적인 교류의 기반을 마련했다.
이번 행사에서는 세계 각지에서 모인 1,200여 명의 동포가 참석한 가운데 '세계 한인의 날' 기념식이 열렸으며, 이재명 대통령이 참석해 동포사회 발전에 기여한 6명에게 훈·포장을 수여했다. 제24차 세계한상대회에서는 총 6,845건, 3억 달러 규모의 비즈니스 상담과 함께 약 940만 달러 규모의 현장 수출 계약이 체결되는 등 눈부신 경제적 성과를 거두었다. 아울러 문학상 시상식, 코리안 페스티벌, 차세대 비즈니스 연결 프로그램 등 다채로운 문화·학술 행사가 이어졌다.
