새만금개발청(청장 문성요)은 서울 코엑스에서 열린 'SEDEX 2026 반도체대전'에 참가해 전북특별자치도, 군산시, 한국농어촌공사 등 관계기관과 함께 국내외 반도체 기업을 대상으로 적극적인 투자유치 활동을 추진했다고 발표했다.

새만금개발청은 대규모 산업용지와 전력, 용수 등 최적의 기반시설을 강점으로 내세우며 반도체 및 소재·부품·장비(소부장) 기업들과 1:1 맞춤형 투자상담을 진행했다. 특히 최근 발표된 현대자동차그룹의 투자계획과 기존 이차전지 산업 인프라를 연계해 인공지능(AI) 데이터센터, 수소, 로봇 등 미래 첨단산업 생태계의 스펙트럼을 대폭 확장한다는 전략이다.

새만금개발청은 이번 전시회를 통해 확보한 글로벌 반도체 기술 동향과 네트워크를 바탕으로 잠재 투자기업을 발굴하고 후속 유치 활동을 밀착 전개하여 새만금을 미래 첨단산업의 메카로 탈바꿈시킬 방침이라고 밝혔다.

The Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency (SDIA, Administrator Moon Sung-yo) announced its participation in 'SEDEX 2026 Semiconductor Exhibition' held at COEX in Seoul, operating a joint investment promotion booth with Jeonbuk State, Gunsan City, and the Korea Rural Community Corporation.

SDIA highlighted its competitive edge in industrial land, power, and water supply, conducting 1-on-1 investment consultations with materials, parts, and equipment (MPE) companies. Leveraging Hyundai Motor Group's investment plans and the existing secondary battery cluster, the agency aims to diversify Saemangeum's industrial ecosystem into artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, hydrogen, and robotics.

SDIA plans to leverage the semiconductor technology trends and corporate networks secured during the event to identify potential investors and execute tailored follow-up activities to transform Saemangeum into a premier global hub for advanced technology.
