[순천/CTN]하성매 기자= 순천시 관계자는 "주민들의 적극적인 참여와 관심 덕분에 2026 순천 국가유산 야행을 내실 있게 마칠 수 있었다"라며 "앞으로도 원도심의 전통과 근현대역사공간을 하나로 잇는 유산 벨트화에 노력을 기울여 순천만의 독창적인 브랜드로 발전시켜 나가겠다"라고 밝혔다.
순천시(시장 손훈모)는 지난 10월 9일부터 11일까지 사흘간 개최된 '2026 순천 국가유산 야행'에 2만 1천여 명의 관람객이 방문하며 성공적으로 행사를 마무리했다고 10월 13일 발표했다. 이번 축제는 원도심 남문터광장에서 매산등 선교유적 일대를 잇는 공간을 활용해 밤의 멋과 역사성을 동시에 살린 야간형 문화유산 행사로 펼쳐졌다.
개막식에서는 순천향교와 연자루를 배경으로 한 화관무 공연이 무대에 올랐으며, 매산등 선교사의 삶을 다룬 창작뮤지컬 <선교사 이야기: 그들이 남은 이유>가 상연되어 관객들에게 큰 감동을 전달했다. 또한 옛 교복 체험, '호외소년' 연기자들의 현장 퍼포먼스, 스탬프 투어 등 방문객이 직접 참여하는 근대 문화 체험 공간이 축제장에 활력을 더했다.
순천시는 이번 행사의 성공적 개최를 발판 삼아 원도심 일대의 전통 유적과 근현대 역사 자원을 유기적으로 연결하는 역사문화 벨트를 한층 강화할 수 있게 됐다.
