[인천/CTN]주대호 기자= 구혜림 인천시 원도심혁신국장은 "이번 개방공간 확대와 연결통로 개통은 시민에게 더 넓은 휴식공간을 제공하고 공원 이용 편의를 높이기 위해 추진됐다"라며 "앞으로도 시민들이 일상 속에서 체감할 수 있는 공원 이용환경 개선과 녹색공간 확충에 지속해서 힘쓰겠다"라고 밝혔다.
인천광역시(시장 박찬대)는 부평구 산곡동 일원 캠프마켓 B구역 내 토양오염 정화가 완료된 부지를 추가 개방하고, 인근 부영공원과 캠프마켓을 잇는 연결통로를 정식 개통했다고 6일 밝혔다. 이번 개방을 통해 캠프마켓의 총 개방 면적은 기존보다 9,500㎡ 넓어진 5만 8,800㎡ 규모로 크게 확장됐다.
시는 산책로, 초화단지, 차폐식재, 가로등 등 휴게·편의시설을 종합 정비하는 한편, 인체 위해도 평가를 통해 안전성을 철저히 검증한 후 10m 연장의 부영공원 연결통로를 조성했다. 개통 당일인 5일에는 시민 보행 체험 행사와 함께 캠프마켓 그리기 대회를 연계 개최해 확장된 녹지공간의 개통 의미를 시민들과 공유했다.
인천시는 그동안 담장으로 가로막혔던 두 공원이 유기적으로 연결됨에 따라 도심 보행 동선이 크게 개선될 것으로 기대하고 있다. 시는 향후 잔여 부지에 대한 단계별 개방 정책을 차질 없이 추진하고, 시민 중심의 열린 휴식공간과 도심 녹지 네트워크 구축에 시정 역량을 모을 계획이라고 밝혔다.
