[인천/CTN]주대호 기자= 박찬대 인천광역시장은 "이번 지역협의회 출범은 산·학·연·군·관이 긴밀히 협력해 인천의 미래 방위산업 청사진을 본격적으로 실행하는 결정적 출발점이다"라며 "현장 수요에 맞춘 전주기 원스톱 지원을 통해 인천의 유망 기업들이 국방 안보를 지키고 글로벌 K-방산 시장을 선도하는 주역으로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 뒷받침하겠다"라고 말했다. 인천광역시는 9월 2일 '인천 방산혁신클러스터 지역협의회'를 개최하고 사업계획안을 심의·의결했다고 밝혔다.
인천 방산혁신클러스터 사업은 'AI 항공(엣지 AI 기반 대드론)'을 특화 분야로 지정해 지역 중심 방위산업 생태계를 구축하는 프로젝트다. 주요 사업으로는 불법 무인기 무력화 및 요격 핵심기술 개발, 시험·실증 인프라 구축, 강소기업 육성 및 방산 공급망 진입 지원, 전문인력 양성 등이 포함됐다.
이날 발족한 지역협의회는 산·학·연·군·관 방위산업 전문가 19명으로 구성됐다. 공동위원장은 인천시 행정부시장과 방위사업청 방위산업진흥국장이 맡아 사업 심의·의결 및 기관 간 협력을 총괄하며, 체계기업 전문가들이 참여해 현장 수요에 맞춘 기술 개발 방향을 설정할 예정이다.
회의에서는 2026년부터 2030년까지 추진되는 5개년 마스터플랜과 1차년도 세부 추진 방안이 다뤄졌다. 위원들은 NLL 인근과 도심 침입 불법 무인기에 대응하기 위한 엣지 AI 기반 탐지 시스템 및 요격 드론 기술 개발, 관내 인프라를 활용한 시험·실증 원스톱 지원 체계 구축에 역량을 모으기로 했다.
인천광역시는 오는 9월 중 '인천방산혁신클러스터 사업단'을 통해 2026년 사업설명회를 개최하고, 2030년까지 차세대 대드론 방산 분야 선도기업을 발굴해 지역 주력 제조산업의 방산 전환을 추진할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

Co-chaired by Incheon's Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs and the Director General of the Defense Industry Promotion Bureau at DAPA, the council will oversee business decisions and inter-agency cooperation.
During the meeting, attendees discussed the 5-year master plan (2026–2030) and the first-year implementation strategy. Members agreed to focus resources on developing Edge AI-based detection systems and interceptor drones to counter unauthorized drones entering NLL border areas and urban airspace.
