[인천/CTN]주대호 기자= 남영희 인천광역시 균형발전부시장은 "지난 10년간 생명사랑 문화 확산을 위해 각자의 자리에서 헌신해 온 분야별 생명지킴이 여러분의 노고에 깊이 감사드린다"라며 "앞으로도 시민의 소중한 생명을 지키기 위해 지역사회와 긴밀히 협력하고 서로의 마음을 살피는 생명존중문화를 만들어 나가겠다"라고 말했다. 인천광역시는 자살예방의 날(9월 10일)을 맞아 9월 1일 홀리데이인 인천 송도에서 '2026년 인천광역시 자살예방의 날 기념행사'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

인천시가 주최하고 인천광역시자살예방센터가 주관한 이번 행사는 '서로를 잇는 생명이음'을 주제로 열렸으며, 남영희 균형발전부시장을 비롯해 생명지킴이와 관계기관 종사자 등 150여 명이 참석했다.

인천시는 2017년 생명사랑택시를 시작으로 약국, 병원, 학원, 활동가, 숙박업소, 간호사, 미용사 등 8개 분야로 생명지킴이 활동 영역을 넓혀왔다. 1부 기념식에서는 자살예방 유공자 표창과 신규 생명지킴이 위촉식이 진행됐고, 2부에서는 샌드아트 공연과 분야별 생명지킴이 10주년 성과 및 우수사례 발표회가 이어졌다.

아울러 인천시는 9월 한 달간 일상 속 걷기를 통해 참여하는 '생명을 잇는 걸음' 워크온 챌린지를 함께 진행할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

Hosted by Incheon City and organized by the Incheon Suicide Prevention Center, the event was held under the theme of 'Life Connection Connecting Each Other,' with around 150 attendees including Vice Mayor Nam and field gatekeepers.

Starting with 'Life Love Taxis' in 2017, Incheon has expanded its gatekeeper network across eight sectors, including pharmacies, hospitals, academies, and hair salons. The first part of the ceremony included commendations for meritorious service and new gatekeeper appointments, followed by sand art performances and a 10th-anniversary presentation of gatekeeper achievements.

In addition, Incheon City plans to run the 'Walking for Life' WalkOn challenge throughout September to encourage civic participation.
