[법제처/CTN]가요진 기자= 조원철 법제처장은 "AI는 이미 우리 사회에서 없어서는 안 되는 도구가 되었으므로, AI의 발전과 신기술 활용 창업 등을 통해 우리 사회가 지속적으로 성장하기 위해서는 이를 뒷받침하는 법제가 반드시 필요하다"라면서 "국민 모두가 기술 발전으로 인한 혜택을 누리고 지속적 경제혁신이 이루어지도록 지원하겠다"라고 말했다. 법제처는 8월 28일 서울 서초구 엘타워에서 '미래 법제의 방향성 - 신기술의 산업 활용과 AI·데이터 활용 법제'를 주제로 '제3회 미래법제포럼'을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

한국법제연구원과 공동으로 개최한 이번 포럼에는 피지컬AI, 자율주행, 신기술 창업, 데이터 활용 등 관련 분야 실무자와 전문가들이 참석했다. 특히 국가인공지능위원회 박태웅 공공AX분과장은 개회사에서 AI 기술의 발전을 산업혁명에 비유하며 새로운 생산성 향상 시대에 대비해야 한다고 언급했다.

포럼은 총 2개 분과로 나뉘어 진행됐다. 1분과에서는 '휴머노이드·피지컬AI 및 자율주행 등 신기술 산업 혁신'을 주제로 손병희 마음AI연구소장, 박지훈 법무법인 화우 전문위원, 이완재 현대자동차 자율주행팀장, 김영국 자동차손해배상진흥원 정책연구센터장이 산업 현황과 법제 역할을 발제했다. 이어 최경진 한국인공지능법학회 회장이 좌장을 맡아 신기술 산업 혁신 관련 법제 정비 방향을 논의했다.

2분과에서는 'AI·데이터 중심 창업, AI 에이전트 활용과 관련된 쟁점'을 주제로 윤종영 국민대학교 교수, 성윤희 한국법제연구원 부연구위원, 김형준 한국지능정보화사회진흥원 AI법제도센터장, 신용우 법무법인 지평 변호사가 발제에 나섰다. 종합토론은 이유봉 한국법제연구원 AI·데이터법제센터장이 진행을 맡아 AI 활용 전망에 대한 논의를 이끌었다.

법제처는 포럼에서 제시된 전문가들의 논의 결과를 바탕으로 향후 피지컬AI와 자율주행 등 신기술 산업 활용 및 AI 기반 창업 지원을 위한 법제 정비 방안을 다각도로 검토할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

Co-hosted with the Korea Legislation Research Institute, the forum was attended by practitioners and legal experts in physical AI, autonomous driving, and data-based startups. Tae-woong Park, head of the Public AX Division at the National AI Committee, delivered opening remarks, emphasizing the need to prepare for a new era of productivity.

The forum comprised two main sessions. The first session focused on 'Innovation in New Technology Industries such as Humanoids, Physical AI, and Autonomous Driving,' featuring presentations by Byeong-hee Son of Maum AI, Ji-hoon Park of Jipyong, Wan-jae Lee of Hyundai Motor Company, and Yeong-guk Kim of the TAC Compensation Agency. Kyung-jin Choi, President of the Korea AI Law Association, moderated the general discussion.

The second session addressed 'AI/Data-Driven Startups and AI Agent Utilization Issues,' with presentations by Jong-young Yoon of Kookmin University, Yun-hee Seong of KLRI, Hyeong-jun Kim of NIA, and Yong-woo Shin of Jipyong. Yu-bong Lee, Center Head at KLRI, led the discussion on future AI implementation prospects.

MOLEG stated that it plans to review legislative amendment measures to support physical AI and data-driven startup environments based on the forum's outcomes.
