[새만금청/CTN]가요진 기자= 문성요 새만금개발청장은 "안전은 그 무엇과도 타협할 수 없는 절대적인 가치"라며 "중대재해 제로를 목표로 실질적인 안전보건 확보 의무 이행 여부를 철저히 점검하고 미흡한 사항은 개선해 안전한 새만금을 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다"라고 말했다. 새만금개발청은 국민과 근로자의 안전을 최우선으로 하는 '안전보건 경영방침 선포식'을 8월 31일 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 선포식은 문성요 청장의 경영 의지와 근로자의 참여를 바탕으로 수립된 안전보건 경영방침을 노사가 함께 대내외에 공개하는 자리로 마련됐다. 새만금 지역은 최근 현대자동차그룹의 9조 원 규모 투자를 비롯해 미래 산업 관련 대규모 투자가 이어짐에 따라 중대재해 및 안전사고 예방 관리가 주요 과제로 떠오르고 있다.
새만금개발청은 수립된 경영방침을 누리집과 청사 게시판에 게시해 전 직원이 확인할 수 있도록 조치하고, 안전보건 확보 의무 이행 상황을 주기적으로 점검해 안전보건관리체계를 강화할 방침이다.
또한 이날 행사에서는 한국산업안전보건공단 정효석 부장이 강사로 나서 '중대재해예방과 안전보건관리체계'를 주제로 특강을 진행했다. 특강을 통해 참석자들은 중대재해처벌법의 주요 내용을 공유하고 안전보건 의식을 다지는 시간을 가졌다.
새만금개발청은 향후 주기적인 안전점검을 실시하고 현장 내 미흡 요소를 적극 발굴해 중대재해 예방 조치를 지속해서 시행할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
