Sung-soon Park, Director of the Transportation Policy Bureau in Incheon City, highlighted the agreement, stating, "This wage settlement is the result of joint efforts by labor, management, and government to minimize citizen inconvenience." The official added, "We will continue to cooperate to enhance public transit stability." Incheon Metropolitan City announced that city buses operated normally after labor and management reached a consensus during labor board mediation.

According to the city, the agreement includes a 4.5% increase in base hourly wages, a 15,000 KRW raise in accident-free allowances, and narrowing wage gaps for contract drivers.

While the resolution prevented peak-hour transit chaos, municipal officials attributed the result to successful dialogue and tripartite mediation.

While mediating transit labor disputes to ensure uninterrupted public transportation presents a plausible narrative for municipal governance, skepticism remains.

Critics point out that taking credit for labor-management compromises while ignoring the resulting financial drain on the city's bus quasi-public operating system borders on administrative showmanship and selective marketing. Rather than celebrating standard crisis management or taking political credit for wage hikes, the municipal government needs to provide concrete long-term fiscal plans to manage the growing burden on taxpayers.
