[인천/CTN]주대호 기자= 정승환 인천시 환경국장이 이번 행사의 취지를 강조하며 "덕적도를 찾는 여행객들이 아름다운 자연환경 속에서 탄소중립과 기후행동의 의미를 되새기는 계기가 되길 바란다"라며 "앞으로도 기후행동실천단의 활발한 활동을 통해 일회성 행사에 그치지 않고 지속 가능한 저탄소 여행 문화가 지역사회 전반으로 확산될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"라고 밝혔다. 인천광역시(시장 박찬대)는 지난 8월 15일 덕적도 일원에서 인천지속가능발전협의회와 함께 '기후행동 실천 활동 캠페인'을 진행했다고 발표했다.
인천시에 따르면 이번 캠페인은 지난 2025년 선포된 '쓰레기 없는 섬'의 가치를 이어가고, 관광객이 집중되는 여름 휴가철 섬 지역 쓰레기 감량과 친환경 생활문화 확산을 위해 마련됐다.
캠페인은 인천항 터미널과 덕적도 선착장 등 주요 동선에서 진행됐으며, '쓰레기 없는 섬' 실천 가이드 안내, OX퀴즈, 기후행동 실천 약속 서약 등 시민 참여형 프로그램으로 구성됐다. 이번 행사는 덕적도 주민자치회 기후행동 실천단 활동의 일환으로 민·관이 함께 참여했으며, '인기날(인천 1.5℃ 기후실천의 날)' 주간과 연계해 추진됐다.
