[인천/CTN]주대호 기자= 김영신 인천광역시 국제협력국장이 교육 지원 방향을 설명하며 "외국인 근로자들이 한국어 교육 및 전문 교육 기회 부족으로 전문 기술을 배우기 어려운 경우가 많은 만큼, 실질적인 역량을 키울 수 있는 맞춤형 교육을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다"라며 "앞으로도 다양한 기관과 협력해 외국인 근로자의 안정적인 근로 환경 조성과 지역사회 정착을 적극 지원하겠다"라고 밝혔다. 인천광역시(시장 박찬대)는 하나금융그룹이 후원하고 대한결핵협회가 수행하는 이주민 지원 사업의 일환으로 미얀마 외국인 근로자 대상 용접 기술 교육을 마쳤다고 발표했다.
인천시에 따르면 이번 과정은 미얀마어 통역을 배치해 제조업 현장에서 사용되는 아르곤 및 레이저 용접 등 실무 기술을 다루었다.
교육 후 실시한 만족도 조사에서 95% 이상의 응답자가 강사의 전문성과 통역 지원에 긍정적으로 답했다. 참여자들은 기초 원리 습득과 보수 유지 업무에 대한 자신감을 표했다. 시는 이번 사업이 외국인 근로자의 언어 장벽을 낮추고 현장 적응을 돕는 계기가 되었다고 평가하며, 향후 직무 능력 향상과 지역사회 정착을 위한 교육을 확대하겠다고 덧붙였다.
