[익산/CTN]최동주 기자= 박성일 익산시 문화유산과장이 공간 조성의 당위성을 강조하며 "백제왕궁의 역사적 가치와 정체성을 충실히 담아내면서 지역의 미래와 조화를 이루는 공간을 만드는 것이 중요하다"라며 "세계유산의 품격을 높이고 시민과 관광객이 백제의 역사와 문화를 생생하게 경험할 수 있는 익산의 대표 역사문화공간으로 만들어 나가겠다"라고 밝혔다. 전북특별자치도 익산시(시장 정헌율)는 백제왕궁 금마저 역사문화공간 조성사업 설계용역 착수보고회를 열고 세부 계획을 논의했다고 8월 11일 발표했다.
익산시에 따르면 이번 사업은 총공사비 234억 원을 투입해 백제왕궁의 정전, 침전, 공방, 정원 등을 재현한 복합문화공간을 조성하는 프로젝트다.
보고회에는 최정호 익산시 자치행정국장을 비롯해 시의원과 문화유산 전문가들이 참석해 기본 및 실시설계 방향, 시설 배치, 역사적 고증 방안을 논의했다. 시는 제시된 의견을 반영해 설계를 구체화하고 백제 역사를 체험할 수 있는 관광 거점으로 육성할 방침이라고 덧붙였다.
