[인천/CTN]주대호 기자= 이원주 인천광역시 도시계획국장이 지명 정비 방향을 설명하며 "정확한 지명 정보가 지도에 제대로 반영되면 시민들의 일상적인 길 찾기가 편리해지는 것은 물론, 응급 상황에서도 신고 위치를 신속하게 파악하는 데 직결된다"라며 "앞으로도 실제 환경과 맞지 않거나 시민들에게 혼란을 주는 지명을 꼼꼼히 찾아내 정비하고, 시민의 일상과 안전을 지키는 생활밀착형 지명 행정을 적극 추진하겠다"라고 밝혔다. 인천광역시(시장 박찬대)는 시민들의 위치 정보 불편을 해소하기 위해 공원 및 교차로 등 주요 민간 지도 앱의 지명 표기 현황을 집중 정비했다고 8월 11일 발표했다.
인천시에 따르면 지난 6월부터 네이버, 카카오, 티맵 등 민간 지도 플랫폼 내 492개 지명의 반영 여부를 대조 조사했다.
점검 결과 누락되거나 오류가 있는 지명정보에 대해 현행화를 요청하여 당초 40%대에 머물렀던 지명 반영률을 92%까지 올렸다고 설명했다. 시는 이번 정비가 119 긴급 출동 시 신속한 신고 지점 파악에 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다. 이어 미추홀구 '남부역삼거리'처럼 사라진 시설명이 남았거나 삼거리에서 사거리로 바뀌한 곳, 이름 없는 교차로 및 '고속종점지하차도' 등 현실과 맞지 않는 지명 자체를 변경하는 고도화 작업에 착수한다고 덧붙였다.
