[인천/CTN]주대호 기자= 정승환 인천광역시 환경국장이 공사 완료 소식을 전하며 "교산천 수해상습지 개선사업은 시민의 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위한 재해예방사업으로, 오랜 기간 끈질긴 노력 끝에 마침내 결실을 맺으며 지역 주민들의 오랜 숙원사업을 해소하게 됐다"라며 "앞으로도 하천의 안전성과 유지관리 수준을 지속적으로 높여 기후변화 시대에 더욱 안전한 인천을 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다"라고 밝혔다. 인천광역시(시장 박찬대)는 강화군 양사면 교산리에서 북성리 해안선에 이르는 교산천 수해상습지 개선사업 공사를 최근 마쳤다고 발표했다.
인천시에 따르면 이번 사업은 기후변화에 따른 집중호우와 태풍 침수 피해를 예방하기 위해 진행됐다.
시는 국비 25억 원과 시비 290억 원 등 총 315억 원을 투입해 2019년 12월부터 약 7년간 제방 축제 및 호안 정비, 배수시설 설치, 교량 4개소 재가설 등 3.25킬로미터 구간을 정비했다. 이를 통해 기존 10~40미터였던 하천 폭을 35~40미터로 확대해 통수 능력을 크게 개선했다고 설명했다. 아울러 동락천 수해상습지 정비를 마친 데 이어 승기천과 장수천 정비 사업도 2029년 준공을 목표로 준비 중이라고 덧붙였다.
