[개인정보위/CTN]가요진 기자= 송경희 개인정보위 위원장은 "생성형 인공지능 시대를 지나 에이전틱 인공지능, 피지컬 인공지능 등으로 발전하는 거대한 기술적 전환기를 지나며 개인정보의 안전한 이용에 대한 사회적 요구가 더욱 강해질 것이다"라며 "경연대회 기간 중 치열하게 고민하고 토론한 경험을 통해 참가자들이 인공지능 시대 개인정보 활용과 보호를 이끌어 갈 주역으로 성장할 것으로 기대된다"라고 말했다. 개인정보보호위원회는 8월 27일 서울시립대학교 모의법정에서 '제4회 개인정보보호 모의재판 경연대회'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
개인정보위는 개인정보 관련 법률적·기술적 지식을 갖춘 청년 인재를 발굴하고 사회적 관심을 높이기 위해 2023년부터 매년 경연대회를 개최해 오고 있다. 올해 대회는 '인공지능 시대의 개인정보 보호와 활용'을 주제로 열렸으며, 에이전틱 AI의 자율 처리 책임 귀속, AI 생성 허위 민감정보의 개인정보 해당 여부, 서비스 개선 과정에서의 국외 이전 등 최신 현안이 다뤄졌다.
이번 대회에는 법학전문대학원생 부문 24개 팀, 대학(원)생 부문 30개 팀 등 총 54개 팀이 지원했으며, 예선을 거쳐 부문별 4개 팀이 본선에 진출했다. 본선 진출팀들은 삼성전자, LG전자, 카카오, 김앤장, 세종, 태평양 등 국내 주요 기업 인공지능 전문가와 대형 법무법인 변호사들의 멘토링을 받아 변론의 완성도를 높였다.
치열한 경연 결과, 법학전문대학원생 부문 대상은 '개보박두(서울대)' 팀이, 최우수상은 '로스쿨고행길(연세대·부산대)' 팀이 수상했다. 대학(원)생 부문에서는 '정법사(고려대)' 팀이 대상을, '라바(건국대·한양대·성균관대)' 팀이 최우수상을 차지했다. 최우수발표자상은 박지연 씨(서울대 법학전문대학원)와 정현우 씨(고려대)에게 돌아갔다.
개인정보위는 이번 경연대회가 참가자들의 법률적 통찰력 발휘는 물론, 방청객들에게도 급변하는 AI 시대 개인정보의 안전한 처리와 활용의 중요성을 환기하는 자리가 된 것으로 평가했다고 밝혔다.

Held under the theme "Personal Information Protection and Utilization in the AI Era," this year's event addressed key issues including liability in autonomous processing by agentic AI, whether AI-generated false sensitive data constitutes personal information, and overseas data transfers during service improvements.
A total of 54 teams (24 law school teams and 30 undergraduate/graduate teams) applied, with 4 teams from each category advancing to the finals. Finalists enhanced their arguments with mentorship from AI experts at major corporations like Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Kakao, as well as attorneys from top law firms including Kim & Chang, Lee & Ko, and Shin & Kim.
Following the competition, team 'Gaebobakdoo' (Seoul National University Law School) won the Grand Prize in the Law School Division, while team 'Jeongbeopsa' (Korea University) secured the Grand Prize in the Undergraduate/Graduate Division. Ji-yeon Park and Hyeon-woo Jeong were named Best Speakers.
The PIPC evaluated that the event served as a platform for participants to demonstrate legal insight in rapidly changing tech environments and reminded attendees of the importance of safe personal data processing.
