[대구/CTN]이수현 기자= 추경호 대구시장은 "이번 이스타항공의 대구 첫 취항은 대구공항이 침체를 딛고 새롭게 도약하는 계기가 될 것이다"라며 "대구시와 대구공항의 경쟁력을 믿고 더 많은 노선 개설을 함께해 줄 것을 당부한다"라고 말했다. 이스타항공은 대구에 처음으로 사무소를 개설하고 9월 1일 대구공항 국제선 여객청사에서 '대구~장가계' 노선 첫 운항을 기념하는 취항식을 개최했다.
이날 행사에는 추경호 대구시장과 조중석 이스타항공 대표를 비롯해 임인환 대구시의회 의장, 김태우 대구시의회 건설교통위원장 및 소속 의원, 우성진 동구청장, 한국공항공사 및 한국관광공사 관계자 등이 참석했다.
이스타항공은 9월 1일부터 대구~장가계 노선을 주 2회 운항하며, 내년 상반기에는 대구~상하이 노선을 주 4회 추가 운항할 예정이다.
시는 향후 항공사가 안심하고 노선을 확대할 수 있도록 2027년 항공사 재정지원 규모를 확대하고 외국인 관광객 및 전세기 유치 지원책을 발굴하며 공항 이용객 편의성을 개선해 나갈 방침이라고 밝혔다.
