[대구/CTN]이수현 기자= 이병진 대구소방안전본부 구조팀장은 "119 신고를 접수하는 순간에도 도움이 필요한 시민의 위험 신호를 놓치지 않는 것이 중요하다"라며 "상황실 요원의 초기 대응 역량을 높이고 관계기관과의 연계를 강화해 자살위기에 놓인 시민을 지원하는 데 최선을 다하겠다"라고 밝혔다.
대구소방안전본부는 119 신고와 의료 상담 단계에서 자살위험 신호를 조기에 파악하고 적절히 대응하기 위해 9월 28일부터 30일까지 자살위기 대응 교육을 실시했다고 발표했다. 이번 교육에는 119종합상황실과 구급상황관리센터 요원, 소방본부 및 각 소방서의 생명존중협력담당관 등이 참여했다.
대구광역자살예방센터 전문강사가 참여한 교육에서는 자살위험 징후를 알아채는 방법부터 초기 응대 요령, 자살예방센터 등 관계기관으로의 정보 연계 절차까지 실무 중심으로 진행됐다. 대구소방은 올해 1월 1일부터 전국 최초로 119종합상황실과 구급상황관리센터에도 생명존중협력담당관을 팀별 2명씩 추가 지정하여 최초 신고 및 상담 단계부터 위험에 선제적으로 대응하고 있다.
실제로 지난 1월 119구급상황관리센터 요원이 다량의 약물 복용 관련 상담 요청 전화에서 위험 신호를 감지하고 공감 대화로 신속히 대처한 사례가 있었다. 대구소방은 앞으로도 상황실 요원의 위기 대응 능력을 제고하고 지자체 자살예방센터 및 정신건강복지센터와의 협력 체계를 더욱 견고히 할 방침이라고 밝혔다.

Personnel from the 119 Comprehensive Control Room, Emergency Medical Information Center, and Respect for Life Cooperative Officers from the Fire Headquarters and each fire station participated in this training.
In the training conducted by a professional instructor from the Daegu Regional Suicide Prevention Center, practical education was provided on methods to recognize suicide risk signs, initial response tips, and information linkage procedures to related organizations such as suicide prevention centers. Daegu Fire Headquarters additionally designated two Respect for Life Cooperative Officers per team to the 119 Comprehensive Control Room and Emergency Medical Information Center for the first time nationwide starting January 1 this year, preemptively responding to risks from the initial call and consultation stage.
In fact, last January, a 119 Emergency Medical Information Center officer detected warning signs during a medical consultation request regarding excessive drug intake and responded quickly through empathetic dialogue. Daegu Fire Headquarters plans to continuously enhance crisis response capabilities of control room personnel and further solidify the cooperation system with local government suicide prevention centers and mental health welfare centers.
