[CTN/사회]가금현 기자= 전국의 다문화 가정 청소년과 청년들이 풋살을 매개로 한자리에 모여 스포츠를 통한 소통과 화합의 시간을 가졌다.

세계평화통일가정연합(이하 가정연합, 전 통일교)은 지난 3일 충북 청주 명암풋살센터에서 전국 다문화 청소년과 청년 500여 명이 참여한 가운데 '2026 신한국 미래세대 피스컵(Peace Cup)'을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 대회는 서로 다른 문화적 배경을 가진 다문화 미래세대가 스포츠라는 공통의 언어를 통해 자연스럽게 교류하고, 지역과 세대를 넘어 사회적 유대감을 높일 수 있도록 마련됐다.

대회에는 청소년부 11개 팀과 청년부 16개 팀 등 모두 27개 풋살팀이 참가했다. 각 지역을 대표해 출전한 선수들은 리그전 방식으로 그동안 갈고닦은 기량을 선보이며 치열한 승부를 펼쳤다.

경기 결과 청소년부에서는 천원특별팀이 우승을 차지했으며, 청년부에서는 대구경북팀이 정상에 올랐다.

특히 이번 대회는 경기 결과에만 의미를 두기보다 참가자들이 서로 다른 지역과 문화적 배경을 이해하고 우정을 쌓는 교류의 장으로 진행됐다는 점에서 의미를 더했다.

참가 선수들은 경기장에서 선의의 경쟁을 펼치는 동시에 경기 안팎에서 서로를 응원하고 소통하며 스포츠를 통한 공동체의 가치를 경험했다.

주최 측은 참가자들의 안전한 경기 진행에도 힘을 기울였다. 현장에 전문 응급 의료진과 앰뷸런스를 배치해 만일의 상황에 대비하는 등 선수들이 안전한 환경에서 경기에 집중할 수 있도록 했다.

가정연합은 다문화 미래세대의 건강한 성장과 지역사회 참여를 지원하기 위해 이번 대회에 총 1,600만원의 상금을 지원했다.

이번 지원은 각 지역에서 자생적으로 이어지고 있는 다문화 가정의 스포츠·문화 활동을 격려하고, 청소년과 청년들이 지역사회의 구성원으로 성장할 수 있도록 돕기 위한 취지다.

가정연합 관계자는 "미래세대가 인종과 문화의 벽을 넘어 스포츠라는 공통의 언어로 소통하고 공존의 가치를 배우는 것이 이번 피스컵의 핵심 목적"이라며 "앞으로도 다문화 청소년과 청년들이 건강한 신체와 바른 인성을 바탕으로 우리 사회에 평화와 행복을 전파하는 포용적 리더로 성장할 수 있도록 사회공헌 활동과 적극적인 지원을 이어가겠다"고 밝혔다.

한편 가정연합은 앞으로도 다문화 가정을 비롯한 미래세대가 지역사회 안에서 다양한 문화·체육 활동을 통해 소통하고 성장할 수 있도록 관련 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

[CTN/Society] Reporter Ga Geum-hyeon — More than 500 multicultural teenagers and young adults from across South Korea came together through futsal at the “2026 Shin Korea Future Generation Peace Cup,” creating an opportunity for sports, friendship and social integration.
The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), formerly known as the Unification Church, held the event on October 3 at Myeongam Futsal Center in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
The event was organized to help multicultural youth and young adults strengthen social bonds through sports and grow into healthy and active members of Korean society.
A total of 27 futsal teams participated, including 11 teams in the youth division and 16 teams in the young adult division. Representing different regions across the country, the teams competed in league-style matches while demonstrating the skills they had developed through training.
In the youth division, the Cheonwon Special Team won the championship, while the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Team claimed the title in the young adult division.
Beyond the competition itself, the tournament provided participants with an opportunity to interact with people from different regions and cultural backgrounds. Players competed fairly on the field while also sharing encouragement and friendship off the field.
Organizers also placed a strong emphasis on participant safety. Professional emergency medical personnel and an ambulance were stationed at the venue to ensure that participants could enjoy the competition in a safe environment.
The FFWPU provided a total of 16 million won in prize money to support the healthy development and community participation of multicultural youth and young adults.
The financial support was intended to encourage sports and cultural activities organized by multicultural families in local communities and help young participants establish themselves as active and valued members of society.
An FFWPU official said, “The core purpose of the Peace Cup is to help future generations communicate and learn the value of coexistence through sports, a common language that transcends racial and cultural differences.”
The official added, “We will continue to expand our social contribution activities and support so that multicultural teenagers and young adults can grow into inclusive leaders who bring peace and happiness to our society based on physical health and sound character.”
The FFWPU plans to continue supporting sports, cultural and community activities that enable multicultural youth and future generations to communicate, participate and grow together.
