[대구/CTN]이수현 기자= 대구광역시는 영호남을 연결하는 핵심 광역교통망인 무주~대구 고속도로의 조속한 건설과 예비타당성조사 통과를 위해 경상북도, 전북특별자치도, 지역 정치권과 함께 국회 정책세미나를 열고 공동 대응 방안을 논의했다고 9월 28일 발표했다.
이번 세미나는 국가간선도로망 동서 3축의 단절 구간인 무주~대구 고속도로 사업의 국가적 공감대를 형성하고 영호남 상생발전 기반을 마련하기 위해 개최되었다. 현장에는 지역 국회의원 및 지자체, 유관기관 관계자 등 100여 명이 참석해 예비타당성조사 통과를 위한 협력 의지를 다졌다.
세미나에서 대구시는 달성군 하빈면으로 이전할 대구농수산물도매시장과의 연계성을 높이기 위해 하빈IC 신설을 핵심 과제로 제시했다. 스마트 물류체계를 갖춘 신규 도매시장의 물류 접근성과 유통 효율성을 제고하기 위해 고속도로 건설 시 하빈IC 설치가 필수적이라는 점을 강조했다.
총연장 84.1㎞, 총사업비 약 6조 3,997억 원이 투입되는 무주~대구 고속도로가 개통되면 두 지역 간 이동시간이 기존 100분에서 50분으로 단축된다. 이를 통해 무주 방위산업과 새만금 이차전지 특화단지, 대구 산업단지 간 물류 연계가 강화되고 영호남 광역생활권 및 경제권 확장에 크게 기여할 것으로 전망된다.
