[정읍/CTN]최동주 기자= 이학수 정읍시장은 "지식산업센터가 기업의 입주 공간 부족을 해소하고 종사자들의 정주 여건을 개선하는 기반이 되길 바란다"라며 "일자리 창출과 지역경제 활성화로 이어지는 실질적인 성장 동력이 될 것으로 기대한다"라고 말했다.
전북특별자치도 정읍시는 바이오기업의 입주 및 정주 기반을 지원할 '공공임대형 지식산업센터' 건립을 위한 건축 설계 공모를 진행 중이라고 밝혔다.
이번 사업에는 국비 160억 원과 시비 205억 원 등 총 365억 원의 예산이 투입되며 연면적 1만 281㎡ 규모로 건립된다.
센터 내부에는 기업 임대 공간 60실, 기숙사 20실, 장비 지원실 및 편의시설 등이 들어설 예정이다.
시는 오는 11월 민간 전문가로 구성된 심사위원회를 거쳐 최종 공모 당선작을 결정한다.
정읍시는 올해 설계에 착수해 2027년 착공, 2029년 준공을 거쳐 2030년부터 본격적인 운영에 들어갈 계획이다.
정읍시는 지식산업센터 구축을 통해 지역 내 바이오 산업 생태계 조성과 일자리 창출을 도모하겠다고 밝혔다.
