[보건복지부/CTN]가요진 기자= 현수엽 보건복지부 제1차관은 "이번 설명회는 국민연금이 2018년부터 수행해 온 수탁자 책임 활동의 대상이 되는 회사들과 처음으로 소통하는 의미 있는 자리다"라며 "이번 설명회를 계기로 투자자인 국민연금과 투자회사 간의 상호 이해를 높이고, 나아가 기업의 장기적 발전과 궁극적으로는 기금 수익을 안정적으로 높이는 데 기여할 수 있기를 바란다"라고 말했다.
보건복지부는 9월 14일 서울 한국거래소 사옥에서 국민연금 국내주식 투자기업 관계자들을 대상으로 '국민연금기금 수탁자 책임활동 설명회'를 열었다고 밝혔다.
이날 현장에는 국내 105개 투자기업의 IR 및 ESG 담당 임직원 200여 명이 참석했다.
복지부는 지난 2018년 스튜어드십 코드를 도입한 이후 추진해 온 주요 주주활동 성과와 향후 정책 방향성을 안내했다.
정부는 최근 자본시장 변화에 발맞춰 지난 7월 수탁자 책임활동 이행점검 체계를 도입한 데 이어, 연구용역을 거쳐 '국민연금 스튜어드십 코드 2.0'을 수립할 방침이다.
정부는 이사회 충실의무 명문화 등 최근 완료된 상법 개정과 연계해 기관투자자의 책임 활동 기준을 지속 정비해 나갈 계획이다.
보건복지부는 투자기업과의 지속적인 소통을 통해 국민연금 기금의 장기적 안정성과 수익성을 도모하겠다고 밝혔다.
