[김제/CTN]최동주 기자= 정성주 김제시장은 "지평선 국민체육센터는 시민 모두가 건강한 일상을 누리고 함께 소통하는 생활체육의 중심 공간이 될 것이다"라며 "앞으로도 안전하고 쾌적한 시설 관리와 다양한 프로그램 운영을 통해 시민들의 삶의 질 향상에 최선을 다하겠다"라고 말했다. 김제시는 지평선 국민체육센터 개관식을 개최하고 오는 9월 1일부터 정식 운영에 들어간다고 밝혔다.
김제시에 따르면 28일 열린 개관식에는 정성주 시장을 비롯해 도·시의원, 체육회 관계자 등 200여 명이 참석했다.
지평선 국민체육센터는 수영장, 다목적체육관, 헬스장 등을 갖춘 복합 생활체육시설로, 어린이부터 어르신까지 이용할 수 있는 체육 환경으로 조성됐다.
지방자치단체가 주민 건강 증진과 복지 향상을 위해 체육시설을 건립하고 개관식을 열어 시설 가동을 알리는 것은 정례적인 체육·복지 행정이다.
지평선 국민체육센터는 오는 9월 1일부터 시민들을 대상으로 정식 운영을 시작할 예정이다.
