[CTN/제주]가금현 기자 = 제주시학교밖청소년지원센터(센터장 최진범) 꿈드림이 학교 밖 청소년들을 위한 뜻깊은 역사·문화 탐방 시간을 가졌다.

센터는 지난 6월 30일부터 7월 2일까지 2박 3일간 학교 밖 청소년 12명을 대상으로 '2026년 수학여행(학교 밖 청소년 진로·문화·역사 탐방)' 프로그램을 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 수학여행은 학교 밖 청소년들에게 다양한 문화와 역사 체험의 기회를 제공하는 동시에, 또래와의 소통 및 협동심을 기르고 건강한 사회성을 향상시키기 위해 마련됐다.

참가 청소년들은 경주를 방문해 다양한 문화유산을 직접 보고 느끼는 시간을 가졌다. 이들은 ▲국립경주박물관 ▲대릉원 ▲천마총 ▲첨성대 ▲동궁과 월지 ▲경주엑스포 대공원 ▲경주월드 ▲불국사 등을 차례로 방문하며 신라의 역사와 문화유산에 대한 이해를 높였다.

또한, 단순한 역사 유적지 탐방에 그치지 않고 다양한 체험활동과 단체 프로그램을 진행했다. 청소년들은 서로 협력하고 소통하는 과정을 통해 공동체 의식을 함양했으며, '학교 밖에서도 다양한 배움과 성장이 가능하다'는 자신감을 얻는 계기가 되었다.

지속적인 지원 약속 프로그램에 참여한 한 청소년은 "책으로만 보던 신라의 문화유산을 직접 볼 수 있어서 기억에 오래 남을 것 같다"라며 "친구들과 함께 여행하며 좋은 추억을 만들 수 있어 행복했다"고 소감을 전했다.

제주시학교밖청소년지원센터 관계자는 "학교 밖 청소년들이 다양한 경험을 통해 시야를 넓히고 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 앞으로도 진로·문화체험 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영하겠다"고 밝혔다.

한편, 제주시학교밖청소년지원센터는 (재)제주카톨릭아동청소년회에서 제주시로부터 위탁을 받아 운영 중이다. 센터는 검정고시 공부방 운영뿐만 아니라 청소년 개인의 욕구에 맞춘 ▲직업체험 및 직업훈련 연계 ▲자기계발 활동 ▲건강검진 ▲진로상담 ▲급식지원 ▲입시컨설팅 등 다채로운 서비스를 제공하고 있다.

Jeju City Dream Center Successfully Completes '2026 Gyeongju Field Trip' for Out-of-School Youth
[CTN/Jeju] Reporter Geum-hyun Ga = Jeju City Out-of-School Youth Support Center (Director Jin-beom Choi), also known as Dream Center, organized a meaningful historical and cultural exploration for out-of-school youth.
The center announced that it ran the '2026 Field Trip (Career, Culture, and History Exploration for Out-of-School Youth)' program for three days and two nights from June 30 to July 2, with 12 out-of-school youth participating.
This field trip was designed to provide out-of-school youth with opportunities to experience diverse cultures and history, while fostering communication, teamwork, and healthy social skills among peers.
■ A Journey of History and Culture in Gyeongju, the Ancient Capital of Silla The participating youth visited Gyeongju to personally experience and appreciate various cultural heritages. They enhanced their understanding of Silla's history by visiting key sites including:
Gyeongju National Museum
Daereungwon Ancient Tombs
Cheonmachong Tomb
Cheomseongdae Observatory
Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond
Gyeongju Expo Park
Gyeongju World
Bulguksa Temple
Beyond touring historical sites, the program included various hands-on activities and group missions. Through these, the youth learned to cooperate and communicate, building a sense of community and gaining the confidence that diverse learning and growth are fully possible outside of regular school boundaries.

Continued Support Promised A youth who participated in the program shared, "It will stay in my memory for a long time because I got to see the cultural heritage of Silla with my own eyes, which I had only seen in books. It was wonderful to make great memories traveling with friends."
An official from the Jeju City Out-of-School Youth Support Center stated, "We will continue to operate career and cultural experience programs so that out-of-school youth can broaden their horizons through diverse experiences and grow healthily."
Meanwhile, the Jeju City Out-of-School Youth Support Center is entrusted by Jeju City and operated by the Jeju Catholic Children and Youth Association. In addition to high school equivalency exam (GED) study rooms, the center offers customized services tailored to individual needs, such as vocational experiences, job training connections, self-development activities, health check-ups, career counseling, meal support, and college entrance consulting.
