[서울/CTN]가금현 기자 = 서울시가 청년들의 선제적 경력개발을 위해 올해 전국 최초로 선보인 대학생 일경험 패키지 ‘서영커(서울영커리언스)’ 1단계 캠프(부트캠프) 여름학기 참여자 모집이 청년들의 뜨거운 관심 속에 마감되었다.

‘서울영커리언스(서영커)’는 대학 재학 단계부터 진로탐색과 경력개발을 통한 청년의 일경험을 지원하는 서울시의 5단계 커리어 지원 정책이다. 1단계「캠프」를 시작으로 2단계「챌린지」, 3~4단계「인턴십Ⅰ·Ⅱ」, 5단계「점프업」으로 이어진다.

이번에 모집한 1단계 캠프는 ‘나를 찾는 진로·직무 탐색 부트캠프’라는 주제로 AI 역량검사, 직무과제 수행 등을 통해 커리어 로드맵을 작성함으로써 목표 직무에 필요한 역량과 경로를 체계적으로 설계하는 과정이다.

이번 1단계 캠프 여름학기 참여자 모집 결과, 당초 계획된 200명 모집에 총 1,422명의 청년이 대거 지원하며 '7.1대 1'이라는 기록적인 경쟁률을 기록했다.

이는 지난 봄학기 기록했던 5.5대 1(200명 모집, 1,093명 지원)의 경쟁률을 훌쩍 뛰어넘는 수치로, 방학 기간을 맞아 직무역량을 다지려는 대학생들의 실전 일경험 수요가 폭발적으로 반영된 결과로 해석된다.

서울시는 이 같은 뜨거운 수요를 반영해 당초 200명으로 계획했던 선발 인원을 374명으로 긴급 확대하여 추가 선발을 진행했다. 아울러 이번 여름학기부터는 사회적 배려 대상자(저소득층, 장애인, 보훈대상자 등) 32명을 우선 선발하여 프로그램을 운영한다.

특히 서울시는 이번 여름학기부터 협약 대학교를 기존 31개교에서 가천대학교, 고려대학교, 동남보건대학교, 명지대학교, 성신여자대학교, 한국공학대학교 등 수도권 소재 6개 대학을 신규 추가해 총 37개교로 전격 확대했다.

특정 학교에 선발 인원이 편중되지 않고 다양한 대학의 학생들이 고르게 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 참여대학별 재학생 비율과 지원 현황 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 균형 있는 인원 배분 계획을 적용했다.

최종 선발된 청년들은 7월 6일(월)부터 8월 7일(금)까지 5주간의 본격적인 여름방학 일정에 돌입한다. 참여 학생들에게는 프로그램 운영에 필요한 모든 비용이 전액 지원되며, AI 역량검사와 직무과제 등을 통해 자신만의 커리어 로드맵을 설계하게 된다. 성실히 과정을 마친 참여자에게는 수료증이, 우수 참여자에게는 서울시장 명의의 상장이 수여될 예정이다.

서울시는 봄·여름학기 캠프의 연이은 흥행에 힘입어 오는 8월에 1단계 캠프와 2단계 챌린지 가을학기 참여자를 모집할 계획이다. 1단계 캠프 가을학기는 9~10월 중 프로그램을 실시하며, 2단계 챌린지 가을학기는 9~11월에 팀 공모전 프로젝트 활동을 진행하게 된다. 올 하반기 중에는 참여대학을 추가로 확대 모집해 더 많은 대학생에게 일경험 혜택을 제공할 방침이다.

김철희 서울시 미래청년기획관은 “방학 중에도 쉬지 않고 자신의 미래를 위해 도전하는 청년들의 열정이 경쟁률로 증명되었다”라며, “참여를 확대한 37개 대학의 학생들이 저마다의 역량을 꽃피울 수 있도록 공정하고 균형 있는 선발을 진행하였으며, 청년들이 스스로 삶을 개척하는 자립 능력을 키울 수 있도록 서울시가 아낌없이 지원하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

'Seo-Young-Cur' is Seoul's 5-stage career support policy designed to help university students explore career paths and develop professional experience right from their college years. The program progresses from Stage 1「Camp」, Stage 2「Challenge」, Stages 3-4「Internship I & II」, to Stage 5「Jump-up」. The Stage 1 Camp, themed ‘Bootcamp for Self-Discovery and Job Exploration,’ is a curriculum where students take AI competency assessments and perform job-related tasks to build a career roadmap, systematically designing the skills and paths needed for their target careers.
The recruitment results for this summer semester's Stage 1 Camp showed that a total of 1,422 youth applied for the initially planned 200 spots, recording a historic competition rate of 7.1 to 1. This surpasses the 5.5 to 1 ratio (1,093 applicants for 200 spots) recorded in the previous spring semester, reflecting a massive demand from university students looking to solidify their job competencies during the summer vacation.
In response to this high demand, the Seoul Metropolitan Government urgently expanded the number of selected participants from the original 200 to 374 through additional selection. Furthermore, starting this summer semester, 32 individuals eligible for social consideration (such as low-income families, people with disabilities, and persons of national merit) were preferentially selected to participate in the program.
Notably, Seoul has aggressively expanded its partnership from 31 universities to a total of 37 by adding 6 new universities located in the metropolitan area, including Gachon University, Korea University, Dongnam Health University, Myongji University, Sungshin Women's University, and Tech University of Korea. To ensure that the benefits are evenly distributed among students from various institutions rather than concentrated in specific schools, the city applied a balanced allocation plan that comprehensively considers the enrollment ratios and application statuses of each participating university. The finalized participants will enter a 5-week journey during their summer vacation from July 6 (Mon) to August 7 (Fri) to enhance their practical job skills. All expenses required to run the program will be fully funded, and students will design their own career roadmaps through AI competency tests and job tasks. Those who fulfill the completion criteria will receive a certificate, and top performers will be awarded a commendation from the Mayor of Seoul.
Riding on the success of the spring and summer camp recruitments, Seoul plans to recruit participants for the autumn semester of the Stage 1 Camp and Stage 2 Challenge this coming August. The autumn Stage 1 Camp will recruit in August and run from September to October, while the Stage 2 Challenge will also recruit in August and conduct team competition project activities from September to November. The city plans to actively encourage more universities to participate by recruiting additional partner schools in the second half of this year.
Chul-hee Kim, Director General of the Future Youth Planning Bureau of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "The passion of young people who do not rest during vacation but challenge themselves for their future has been proven by this competition rate." He added, "We conducted a fair and balanced selection process so that students from the 37 expanded universities can fully blossom their potential. The Seoul Metropolitan Government will spare no effort in supporting young people so they can cultivate the independence to pioneer their own lives."
