[경기/CTN]김지우 기자= 이강영 경기도 축산동물복지국장은 "오늘날 말은 심신의 회복과 치유를 돕는 동물로 자리매김하고 있다"라며 "이번 행사가 치유·재활승마의 가치를 알리고 말산업의 복지적 외연을 넓히는 계기가 되길 바란다"라고 말했다.
경기도는 사단법인 대한재활승마협회가 주최·주관하고 경기도가 후원한 '2026년 경기도 치유승마대회'가 9월 12일 화성시 축산진흥센터에서 개최됐다고 밝혔다.
올해로 3회를 맞이한 이번 행사에는 장애인 및 가족, 봉사단체 관계자 등 150여 명이 참석했다.
이번 대회는 참가자들이 말 쓰다듬기, 먹이 주기 등 직접적인 접촉부터 기승 체험까지 단계적으로 참여할 수 있도록 구성됐다.
또한 장제 시연, 편자 던지기, 말 모양 피자 만들기 등 승용마 단지 시설을 둘러보는 말문화 체험 프로그램도 병행됐다.
경기도는 승마를 레저 영역을 넘어 장애인의 정서적 안정과 신체활동을 돕는 공익적 사업으로 확장해 나갈 방침이다.
도는 도민들이 생활 속에서 말과 접촉할 수 있는 기회를 지속해서 늘려가겠다고 밝혔다.
