[전남광주/CTN]최영준 기자= 박태건 전남광주통합특별시 섬해양정책과장은 "올해는 지난해보다 운영 기간이 짧았음에도 더 많은 이용객이 해수욕장을 찾았다"라며 "인명사고 없이 운영을 마치도록 힘쓴 안전관리요원과 현장 근무자, 유관기관에 감사드린다"라고 말했다. 전남광주통합특별시는 12개 시군 48개 해수욕장 운영을 마치고 이용객 현황을 집계해 발표했다.
지방정부에 따르면 올해 해수욕장 총 이용객은 55만 97명으로 전년 대비 3.2% 증가했으며, 개장 기간 인명사고는 단 한 건도 발생하지 않았다.
시는 개장 전 안전관리체계 점검과 현장 구조장비 배치, 소방·해경과의 협조 체계 구축을 무사고 운영의 주요 원인으로 꼽았다.
여름철 피서객 안전을 위해 안전관리 인력을 현장에 배치하고 해양경찰 등 유관기관과 협력체계를 유지하는 것은 지자체의 기본적인 해양 안전 관리 의무다.
