전남광주통합특별시에 따르면 민 시장은 주행사장 전시관과 야외무대 등 주요 시설을 둘러보고 행사장 진입 경로와 식당·휴게공간 등 실제 관람객의 이동 흐름을 직접 확인했다.

이어 주제섬 내부에서 열린 현장 간담회를 통해 교통 대책과 공연 운영계획, 분야별 대응체계를 점검했다. 시와 여수시, 조직위원회는 오는 29일 시민들이 참여하는 프리뷰데이를 열어 실제 행사 조건에서 최종 점검을 진행할 예정이다.

이처럼 지자체장이 대형 국제행사를 앞두고 현장을 직접 찾아 준비 상황을 살펴보고 관계자들에게 안전 및 편의점검을 당부하는 것은 정상적인 행정 절차다.

다만 개막을 불과 십수 일 남겨둔 시점에 현장을 방문해 동선을 동행 순찰하는 단순 행사를 갖고 마치 대단한 행정 성과나 리더십이라도 발휘한 양 대대적으로 홍보하는 것은 겉치레 행정이라는 지적을 피하기 어렵다. 단순한 현장 둘러보기나 수사적 당부에 그칠 것이 아니라, 돌산 일대의 만성적인 교통 체증을 해소할 실질적인 수송 대책과 비상 상황 시의 즉각적인 현장 대응 인프라 구축 등 시민이 체감할 수 있는 실질적 안전 성과로 증명해야 한다.

Rather than relying on ceremonial site visits or rhetorical calls for visitor satisfaction, the municipal government needs practical results, such as establishing real-time traffic mitigation tactics around the Dolsan area and deploying functional emergency response systems on site.
