[사회/CTN]가금현 기자 = 서산시학교밖청소년지원센터(센터장 유인화)는 교육부 학생지원총괄과의 교과서 지원 사업 취지에 따라 학교 밖 청소년들의 학업 지속과 학력 인정 기회 확대를 위해 교과서 지원 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.
센터는 지난 5월 18일부터 온라인 플랫폼을 통해 교과서 수요조사를 실시했으며, 이를 바탕으로 총 20명의 학교 밖 청소년에게 250권의 교과서를 지원한다.
초등학교 및 고등학교 교과서는 6월 2일 배부를 완료했으며, 중학교 교과서는 오는 6월 4일 추가 배부할 예정이다.
특히 이번 지원은 서산교육지원청과 지역 내 각급 학교의 적극적인 협조 속에 이뤄져 의미를 더했다.
각 학교는 보유 중인 잔여 교과서를 신속하게 확인해 지원 가능 여부를 검토했으며, 서산교육지원청은 학교별 교과서를 체계적으로 회수·연계하는 역할을 수행해 필요한 학습 자료가 적기에 전달될 수 있도록 지원했다.
이번 사업은 단순한 교과서 지원을 넘어 지역사회가 함께 교육 사각지대 해소에 나섰다는 점에서 주목받고 있다.

한편 서산시학교밖청소년지원센터는 학교 밖 청소년의 학업 복귀와 자립 역량 강화를 위해 오는 8일부터 검정고시 대비 프로그램인 ‘스마트교실’을 운영할 예정이다.
또한 개인상담, 직업체험, 자격증 취득 지원 등 다양한 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하고 있으며, 앞으로도 지역사회와의 긴밀한 협력을 바탕으로 학교 밖 청소년들의 건강한 성장과 성공적인 사회 진입을 적극 지원할 계획이다.

Meanwhile, the Seosan Out-of-School Youth Support Center plans to launch its GED preparation program, ‘Smart Classroom,’ on June 8. The center also provides a variety of customized services, including individual counseling, career exploration programs, and support for obtaining professional certifications. Moving forward, it will continue to work closely with the local community to support the healthy development and successful social integration of out-of-school youths.
