[CTN/사회]가금현 기자= 레미콘 제조·판매업체인 한라엔컴 당진사업소(소장 김종범)가 공장 운영 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 비산먼지와 콘크리트 슬러지의 외부 유출을 예방하기 위한 환경관리 개선에 나섰다.

한라엔컴 당진사업소는 공장 진입로를 통해 차량 등에 묻어 나오는 비산먼지와 시멘트 슬러지 등이 사업장 밖 도로는 물론 인근 농경지와 저수지 등으로 직접 흘러들어가는 것을 방지하기 위해 침전조를 설치하고 오염물질을 관리하는 시설을 마련했다.

침전조를 통해 유입된 물에 포함된 슬러지 등 오염물질은 가라앉도록 하고, 상대적으로 맑아진 상등수만 외부로 흐르도록 관리하는 방식이다.

이번 조치는 그동안 사업장 주변 환경관리와 관련해 개선이 필요하다는 지적을 받아온 부분을 보완하기 위한 것으로, 김종범 소장을 중심으로 당진사업소가 현장의 문제점을 개선하고 지역 자연환경 보호에 힘쓰고 있다는 평가다.
