가정연합은 6월 15일 서울 용산구 천원궁 천승대교회에서 목회자와 신도 등 350여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘세계평화통일가정연합 창립 72주년 기념식 및 사회공헌단 출범식’을 개최했다.

송용천 한국협회장을 단장으로 하는 사회공헌단은 앞으로 전국 교구와 교회를 중심으로 환경보호, 취약계층 지원, 재난구호 등 체계적인 봉사와 나눔 활동을 전개하며 종교의 사회적 책임을 실천하는 구심점 역할을 맡게 된다.

송용천 한국협회장은 기념사에서 “가정연합이 지난 72년간 걸어온 길은 참사랑을 사회에 실천해 온 역사이자 하늘을 향한 효정의 역사였다”고 회고하며, 결의해야 할 세 가지 시대적 방향으로 ▲신앙의 본질 회복 ▲신뢰받는 투명한 조직으로의 혁신 ▲미래세대를 세우는 협회를 선언했다. 이어 “사회공헌단 출범을 통해 소외된 이웃의 눈물을 닦아주고 세상의 신뢰를 다시 세우는 위대한 이정표를 만들자”고 강조했다.

두승연 가정연합 세계선교본부장은 격려사를 통해 “72년 전 인의(人意)가 아닌 신의(神意)로 출발한 가정연합은 전통 위에 1세대와 미래세대가 새로운 책임과 희망으로 협회를 세워 나가기를 바란다”고 전했다.

이날 기념식에서는 문연아 선학학원 이사장, 문훈숙 효정한국문화재단 이사장, 송용천 한국협회장이 정년퇴임 및 장기근속 목회자, 효정모범가정 등에 공로패를 수여하며 그간의 노고를 격려했다.

식후 행사로 송용천 사회공헌단장을 비롯한 임직원 100여 명은 용산구 청파동 원본부교회 인근 골목길에서 쓰레기를 줍는 ‘줍깅(Plogging) 봉사활동’을 펼쳤다. 이에 앞서 지난 14일에는 전국 교회 신도들이 각 지역사회에서 대대적인 동시다발적 봉사활동을 진행했다.

또한, 가정연합은 이번 기념식을 축하하기 위해 전국 50여 개 섭리기관과 교구에서 보내온 ‘사랑의 쌀화환’ 쌀 100포대를 용산푸드뱅크, 철원푸드뱅크, 흑석종합복지센터 등 지역 내 취약계층 지원기관에 전달하여 따뜻한 온기를 나눌 예정이다.

가정연합 관계자는 “이번 사회공헌단 출범은 이웃과 지역사회를 위해 봉사하는 신앙의 본질을 실천하는 첫걸음”이라며 “오는 12월에는 ‘사회공헌 성장 공유회’를 개최해 우수 사례를 발굴하고 따뜻한 신앙 공동체의 역할을 더욱 확대해 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.

한편, 가정연합은 1954년 5월 1일 서울에서 ‘세계기독교통일신령협회’로 출발해 ‘하나님 아래 인류 한 가족(One Family under God)’의 평화 이상을 전파해 온 종교단체로, 현재 세계 200여 개국에 선교 기반을 두고 있다.

During the ceremony, Moon Yeon-ah, Chairwoman of the Sunhak Educational Foundation, Moon Hoon-sook, Chairwoman of the Hyojeong Cultural Foundation, and President Song Yong-cheon presented plaques of appreciation to retired and long-serving pastors, as well as exemplary Hyojeong families, praising their dedication.
In the afternoon, practical volunteer activities took place. About 100 officials, including Social Contribution Group Director Song Yong-cheon, gathered near the original headquarters church in Cheongpa-dong, Yongsan-gu, and engaged in a 'Plogging' (picking up trash while walking) volunteer activity throughout the alleys of Yongsan-gu. Prior to this, on June 14, members from churches across the country simultaneously carried out extensive volunteer work in their respective local communities.
In addition, the Family Federation plans to deliver 100 bags of "Rice of Love" donated by 50 providential organizations and dioceses nationwide to local welfare institutions, including the Yongsan Food Bank, Cheorwon Food Bank, and Heukseok Comprehensive Welfare Center, to share warmth with underprivileged neighbors.

Meanwhile, the Family Federation began as the 'Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity' in Seoul on May 1, 1954, spreading the peace ideal of 'One Family under God.' It currently has a mission foundation in more than 200 countries worldwide.
