[CTN/사회]박순신 기자= 국제봉사단체 러브인캄코(회장 가금현, CTN 대표이사)가 지난 9월 9일 서산시 소문난대구에서 9월 정기이사회를 개최하고 2026년 하반기 캄보디아 국제봉사 일정을 확정했다.

이날 이사회에서는 캄보디아 현지 학교 교육지원사업을 위해 도서 및 교재 구입비, 차량 지원비 등 총 100만 원의 봉사활동비를 지원하기로 의결했다.

가금현 회장은 "러브인캄코는 캄보디아 학교 건립 및 교육지원 사업을 목적으로 창립된 단체인 만큼, 교육 환경이 열악한 캄보디아에 대한 지속적인 지원이 이어져야 한다"고 강조했다.

이어 "이사회 구성원 모두가 봉사자로서 지역사회를 넘어 보다 열악한 환경에 처한 해외 학생들에게 꿈과 희망을 심어줄 수 있도록 나눔을 적극 실천해 달라"고 당부했다.

이어 김춘수 고문은 "캄보디아에 절실히 필요한 중학교 건립은 회원들의 회비만으로는 한계가 있는 것이 현실"이라며 "그렇다고 회비를 아끼기 위해 봉사활동을 축소해서는 안 된다"고 피력했다.

김 고문은 "어려움이 있더라도 현행 봉사 활동을 지속하는 동시에, 현재 추진 중인 충남도 비영리단체(NGO) 등록을 조속히 완료하여 기업 및 외부 후원을 적극 발굴해야 중학교 건립이라는 목표를 이룰 수 있다"고 격려했다.

이에 가금현 회장은 "이제는 캄보디아 중학교 건립을 기정사실화하고 5개년 또는 7개년 중장기 로드맵을 수립해 실질적인 추진 기틀을 마련해야 할 시점"이라고 응답했다.

한편, 현재 120여 명의 회원이 활동 중인 러브인캄코는 충남도청 비영리민간단체 등록을 위한 제반 준비를 마친 상태다.

러브인캄코의 2026년 하반기 캄보디아 국제봉사는 오는 12월 14일부터 20일까지 진행될 예정이다.

참가 신청 접수는 9월 14일부터 18일까지 받으며, 이번 이사회에서 의결된 100만 원의 사업 지원비 외에 참가 봉사자의 항공료 및 현지 숙식·체류 경비 일체는 자부담으로 진행된다.

Advisor Kim Choon-soo emphasized, "Building a middle school in Cambodia—which is urgently needed—presents financial challenges that cannot be met solely through member dues. However, we must not reduce our active missions just to save funds." He continued, "We must maintain our ongoing initiatives while completing our official registration as a non-profit organization (NGO) with Chungnam Province to secure corporate sponsorships and external funding."
In response, Chairman Ga noted, "We should now take the middle school construction project as an established goal, establishing a 5-year or 7-year strategic roadmap to open practical avenues for execution."
Currently boasting around 120 active members, Love in CAMKO has completed all preparations to register as an official non-governmental organization (NGO) with Chungnam Provincial Government.
Love in CAMKO's second-half international volunteer mission to Cambodia is scheduled from December 14 to December 20, 2026. Applications for participating volunteers will be accepted from September 14 to September 18. Aside from the 1 million KRW project fund authorized by the board, all personal expenses—including airfare, meals, and accommodations—will be fully self-funded by individual participants.
