추 시장은 인사말을 통해 정부의 통합특별시 공공기관 우선 이전 방침을 언급하며 국회 법사위에 계류 중인 대구경북 행정통합법의 조속한 통과를 촉구했다. 이어 참석자들은 '공공기관 2차 이전, 대구·경북 상생 협력' 구호를 외치는 공동 세리머니를 진행했다. 이어진 토론회에서는 양 시·도가 추진 현황과 전략을 발표하고, 단순한 분산 이전을 넘어 미래 첨단 산업 및 특화 인프라와 시너지를 낼 수 있는 '산업 연계형 공공기관 유치'를 최우선 추진 방향으로 꼽았다.
