An official from Yeongcheon City stated, "We hope this training serves as an opportunity for employees to reflect on their own mental state and pay attention to psychological challenges," adding, "We will continue our steady efforts to foster a respectful and mental-health-friendly civil service culture."
Yeongcheon City announced on October 12 that it conducted gatekeeper training for senior officials and mental health promotion sessions for all employees on October 7 to commemorate 'World Mental Health Day' on October 10. The program was organized to promote a culture of respect for life within the public sector and proactively prevent burnout caused by job stress.
During the expanded executive meeting, senior officials received 'Look, Listen, and Speak' gatekeeper training focused on recognizing suicide warning signs and managing crisis situations. Additionally, author Lee Tae-hwa was invited to the City Civil Center to lead a practical workshop covering stress management, breathing exercises, and emotional relaxation techniques for all staff members.
The Yeongcheon Mental Health Welfare Center also launched the 'Let's Face Each Other' campaign alongside the training, delivering messages of mutual care and mental wellness among colleagues.
