[CTN/스포츠]가금현 기자= 대한민국 스포츠클라이밍 대표팀이 ‘2026 아이치·나고야 아시안게임’에서 역대 아시안게임 최다 메달 기록을 새롭게 세웠다.

(사)대한산악연맹(회장 조좌진)은 스포츠클라이밍 리드 종목에서 서채현이 금메달, 이도현이 동메달을 획득했다고 밝혔다.

서채현은 전날 열린 준결승에 이어 이날 진행된 결승에서도 완등(TOP)에 성공하며 금메달을 목에 걸었다.

서채현은 준결승에서 일본의 모리 아이와 함께 완등을 기록했지만, 결승에서는 출전 선수 가운데 유일하게 완등에 성공하며 압도적인 기량을 선보였다.

함께 출전한 여자 리드 김채영은 준결승에서 52홀드까지 도달해 3위로 결승에 진출했다. 이어 결승에서는 38+를 기록하며 최종 4위로 대회를 마무리했다.

남자 리드에서는 이도현과 노현승이 나란히 결승에 진출했다.

이도현은 준결승에서 33+를 기록하며 4위로 결승에 올랐고, 노현승은 31을 기록해 5위로 결승 진출을 확정했다.
결승에서 이도현은 38을 기록하며 최종 3위에 올라 동메달을 획득했다.

노현승은 26+를 기록하며 최종 7위로 대회를 마쳤다.

이번 대회에서 대한민국 스포츠클라이밍 대표팀은 금메달 1개, 은메달 1개, 동메달 3개 등 총 5개의 메달을 획득했다.

세부적으로는 여자 리드 서채현이 금메달을 차지했고, 남자 볼더 이도현이 은메달을 획득했다. 남자 리드 이도현과 여자 볼더 서채현, 여자 스피드 정지민은 각각 동메달을 추가했다.

이로써 대한민국 스포츠클라이밍 대표팀은 역대 아시안게임 최다 메달 기록을 경신했다.

앞서 대한민국 스포츠클라이밍 대표팀은 2018 자카르타·팔렘방 아시안게임에서 총 3개의 메달을 획득했다. 당시 천종원이 남자 컴바인 금메달, 사솔이 여자 컴바인 은메달, 김자인이 여자 컴바인 동메달을 차지했다.

2022 항저우 아시안게임에서는 이도현과 서채현이 남녀 컴바인 은메달을 획득했으며, 남자 스피드 릴레이의 이승범·이용수·정용준과 여자 스피드 릴레이의 노희주·정지민·최나우가 각각 동메달을 차지해 총 4개의 메달을 기록했다.

이번 2026 아이치·나고야 아시안게임에서는 메달 수를 5개로 늘리며 역대 아시안게임 최다 메달 기록을 새롭게 작성했다.

대한민국 스포츠클라이밍 대표팀은 이번 대회에서 볼더, 리드, 스피드 등 다양한 종목에서 고른 활약을 펼치며 아시아 무대에서의 경쟁력을 다시 한번 입증했다.

According to the Korea Alpine Federation, Seo Chae-hyun won the gold medal in the women’s lead event, while Lee Do-hyun claimed bronze in the men’s lead event.
Seo Chae-hyun, who also reached the top in the previous day’s semifinal, successfully completed the final route by reaching the top once again to secure the gold medal.
In the semifinal, Seo shared the top position with Japan’s Ai Mori after both climbers completed the route. In the final, however, Seo was the only competitor to reach the top, demonstrating dominant form to claim the title.
Kim Chae-young, who also competed in the women’s lead event, reached 52 holds in the semifinal to advance to the final in third place. She recorded 38+ in the final and finished fourth overall.
In the men’s lead event, Lee Do-hyun and Noh Hyun-seung both advanced to the final.
Lee recorded 33+ in the semifinal to qualify in fourth place, while Noh reached 31 to secure fifth place and a spot in the final.
In the final, Lee scored 38 to finish third overall and win the bronze medal. Noh recorded 26+ and finished seventh.
South Korea’s sport climbing team won a total of five medals at the Games — one gold, one silver and three bronze — setting a new record for the country’s most medals won in sport climbing at an Asian Games.
Seo Chae-hyun won gold in the women’s lead event, while Lee Do-hyun had previously secured silver in the men’s bouldering event. Lee added a bronze medal in the men’s lead, Seo won bronze in the women’s bouldering event, and Jung Ji-min claimed bronze in the women’s speed event.
South Korea had previously won three sport climbing medals at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games.
At those Games, Cheon Jong-won won gold in the men’s combined event, while Sa Sol took silver and Kim Jain won bronze in the women’s combined event.
At the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, Lee Do-hyun and Seo Chae-hyun each won silver medals in the men’s and women’s combined events. South Korea also won bronze medals in the men’s speed relay and women’s speed relay, bringing its total to four medals.
With five medals at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, South Korea has now established a new record for its best-ever medal haul in sport climbing at the Asian Games.
The South Korean sport climbing team demonstrated strong and balanced performances across bouldering, lead and speed events, reaffirming its competitiveness on the Asian stage.
