[공정위/CTN]가요진 기자= 공정거래위원회 관계자는 "이번 연구회는 그간 변화한 글로벌 경쟁 정책 환경을 점검하고 법 집행 노하우를 공유하는 의미 있는 자리다"라며 "앞으로도 EU 경쟁총국과의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 주요 현안에 관한 정책적 공조를 지속해서 강화해 나가겠다"라고 말했다.
공정거래위원회는 9월 8일부터 9일까지 이틀간 유럽연합 집행위원회 경쟁총국(EU 경쟁총국)과 공동으로 '제6회 한-EU 경쟁정책 연구회'를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
한-EU 경쟁정책 연구회는 한국과 EU의 경쟁법 집행 경험을 공유하고 상호 이해를 높이기 위해 2019년 처음 시작된 협력 사업으로, 올해는 화상 회의 방식으로 운영된다.
연구회 첫날인 8일에는 '경쟁법 집행에서의 경제분석 및 증거 활용 방법'을 주제로 양측의 구체적인 사건 적용 사례에 관한 논의가 이뤄졌다.
둘째 날인 9일에는 '최근 양측의 경쟁정책 및 법 집행 동향'을 주제로 급변하는 시장 환경에 맞춘 최신 정책 추진 성과와 실제 집행 경험을 공유한다.
공정위는 이번 행사가 지난 2023년 제5회 연구회 이후 3년 만에 개최되는 만큼 그간 축적된 주요 이슈들을 종합적으로 다루는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
공정위는 향후에도 EU 경쟁총국을 비롯한 주요국 당국과의 정책 교류를 지속 확대해 국제적인 법 집행 대응력을 높여갈 방침이라고 밝혔다.
