[해양경찰청/CTN]가요진 기자= 이원재 해양경찰청 장비기술국장은 "안정적인 해상 전파·통신 환경은 긴급 구조와 해양안전 업무를 신속하고 정확하게 수행하기 위한 중요한 기반이다"라며 "이번 협약을 통해 양 기관의 전문성과 기술 역량을 적극 공유해 보다 안전하고 신뢰할 수 있는 해상 통신환경을 구축해 나가겠다"라고 말했다.
양용열 한국전파진흥협회 사무총장은 "협회가 보유한 전문 기술과 인프라를 국민의 생명과 안전을 지키는 해양 환경에 활용한다는 데 의미가 있다"라며 "해상 전파환경 개선과 무선통신 설비의 신뢰성 향상을 위해 적극 지원하겠다"라고 덧붙였다.
해양경찰청과 한국전파진흥협회(RAPA)는 9월 1일 인천 송도 한국전파진흥협회에서 해상 스마트 전파·통신 환경 확보 및 안전한 해상 전파환경 조성을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 해양 인명 안전과 국민 편익 증진을 위해 전파·통신 분야 기술을 교류하고 무선통신 설비의 안정성을 확보하기 위해 추진됐다.
양 기관은 해상 전파·통신 장비 성능 시험 및 기술 검증, 해상 전파환경 분석 및 혼·간섭 대책 수립, 해양 업무용 무선통신 설비 성능 개선 공동연구 등에 합의했다.
아울러 해양경찰청 무선통신설비의 기술 검증과 함께 해상 통신 관련 전문교육 및 인력 양성을 진행해 현장 기술 역량을 다각도로 높일 계획이다.
해양경찰청은 한국전파진흥협회의 전문 인프라를 활용해 긴급 구조 대응력을 강화하고 실질적인 협력 과제를 지속해서 발굴해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.

The Korea Coast Guard stated it will leverage RAPA's test and measurement infrastructure to continuously upgrade operational readiness for emergency rescues.
